Unfortunatly it will most likely be Win95/98 only. But just you wait Uncle Mikey. Have you noticed the latest interest in Linux by the press?
Its just the first step in the Fall of the Microsoft Empire. -RyanR

Linux has alot more recuitment to do in the software industry do become mainstream, and seeing as how no-one owns linux, it looks like we'll all be out of luck ... I think we should all just go back to the good old days of DOS !!! |

Yeah, a Linux port would be great. But, the market pushes companies to go for Windows :-(. |

I think that the day that Linux poses any threat to Microsoft would be the day after Microsoft gains control and squashes it. |

That wasn't very clear. I meant Evil$oft will crush them one day before they could become a threat. |

linux, is okay, but uhh it's the comsumer version of unix, right. so since unix is great for networking, well that's what it's for... so unless you had a network running linux, having linux would be kinda dumb. The only programs, i know of on linux, are email programs, netscape(hehe), and some emulators. So not many consumers would have it. why would u want to sell to such a small audience? woulnd't it be bad buisness. what would morgan say? Scientists make problems, that's why you need engineer's to solve them |

Wordperfect, for one is out for Linux(and will be a free download in the near future). Of all the things I do on a computer, the only area I find linux lacking is games. Not many commercial releases for it. Granted, there is more high end support for Linux(databases, web servers, etc), but there are plenty of "desktop" applications as well. |

sorry, about not knowing other programs for linux, my friend(he has a penguin on his shirt) told me it's very good for running quake servers, like i said before, unix' power is in it's networking. Scientists make problems, that's why you need engineer's to solve them

According to the FAQ the game will be released for Win95/98 and NT. After that the publisher EA will make the decision to port to Mac, Linux, etc.Antiam |

You're neglectign one very important fact when you say that Microsoft will "gain control" of Linux and "squash" it. There's no way they could do that. What would they do? Buy the company? No company. Ask nicely? HA!!! Bite our collective arses, Billy Boy! The great strength, and the great weakness of Linux is that no one owns it. |
