So, Junack, what did you do to deserve a death like that? I mean, liquid nitrogen, suffocation as the synthglass wraps around your frozen face and then ripped apart and electrocuted as it retensions and expands.YUCK!

Yo_Yo_Yo_Hey,Have you never read "Dune"? A mentat is a human who has been highly trained to function as a computer. They were essential retainers to all the Great Houses. BTW, your mutinous and self-promoted "Col." Santiago doesn't look so tough now, does she?

Read Dune? I thought I was just a game! Pretty cool, I might try to get my hands on a copy later. Did they have the three "factions" in the book, and all the units and the spice and the carry-alls and all the other stuff? |

Thats nice. A lot of people, like me, YYYH(?), TAS, and others have evolved to the point where we really don't like people who artifially inflate their post count. |

I remember I was playing Dune2 in 93' just after I got my sound blaster and CD-ROM (wasn't I good). The intro totaly blew me away (keep in mind that this was 93')."The planet Dune, land of the spice... who ever controls the spice controls Dune..." Those where the days. Right now I'm trying to get my hands on a copy of "Might & Magic IV", the Darkside of Xeen. (Also great with a sound blaster!) |

Na, you wont beat me to 2000, the demo will be out before 1000, so I dont think anyone will be in quadruple digits again!! I never read Dune, dont like sci-fi alot, I like real stuff mostly, up with history!! Damn Santiago, had to get caught so easily, that's what you get for putting a woman in charge of a war-like faction!!!! Down with communism, PS, that wasnt a flame BKK, I put swears in almost all my questions! Example: Roger, where the hell are you going?? See, no flame there! My intention is to rid the world of communism, dictatorships, & all other forms of government that oppress their god given right to be free!! FREEDOM, LIBERTY, & SMAC!!!! Dune is one of the best sci-fi books of all time. Unlike some of the other posters, I didn't like the books after it in the series near as much(though I did rather like God Emperor of Dune). Rather old book(for the sci-fi world), published in 1965. You should give it a try, YYYH. It doesn't read like most sci-fi. |

Well, since I owe the library about $10 as of right now, because I never returned the 2 Mars books I borrowed, I'll have to wait 'till when I return 'em, & pay off the fine, which rest assured will happen on two different dates. Then there's also the fact my idiot sister lost my library card somehow!!! So that's another $2 to replace it, my public library is cheap!!FREEDOM, LIBERTY & SMAC!!! How'd I miss MikeH's post. No, no school today, don't ask me why, the teachers are doing something, probably plotting to blow up the school & blame it on a disgruntled student who recently got suspended!I didn't have school yesterday either!!! But I have school tomorrow My army to stop BKK's fighters There, beat that!!! |

"It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of Sapho that thoughts acquire speed - The lips acquire stains - The stains become a warning - It is by will alone I set my mind in motion."(Piter De Vries) Hmmmmmmm...Piter, THE best Mentat to ever live. And dont start with your little old paranoid, Tuffir! N.B.: Just replace "Sapho" by "Coffee" and the sentence takes more sense... |

I knew smileys had a downside. The movie of Dune is incomprehensible to anyone who hasn't already read the book. The long version probably makes more sense. (I can't say for sure, I haven't seen it.) |

I saw the movie long before I read the book and I understood Dune just fine. (There are quite a few HUGE differences between the book and the movie as well). Personally I love Dune the movie because it is full of so may ridiculous lines. "My name... is a killing word..." "But how can this be?!?! For he IS the Kwisatz Haderach!!!!!!!" My personal observation about the movie would be that if you cut out all the scenes where it is just a voiceover of something somebody said earilier in the film it would probably only be about an hour long...
