Hi, we have 2 games running and just detected that all can used ctrl-k to call the editor and see and change all. how we can secure that this cannot happen when setting up a new pbem?

Unfortunately, there's not much. Either you trust the other players to act honorably or you just agree that all players are allowed to use crtl-k and see everything (so everyone's on a level playing field). PBEM was a last minute addition to SMAC and due to time constraints, it was not the most polished feature. However, PBEM is the best way to play SMAC since the internet is just a lousy playing medium for Turn based games. |

it's not only that you can see all, you can also edit all factions without that anyone sees it as the hint "cheating" already is there. But it's only in 2 pbems we play, the other don't have the problem. |

no offense, but why would you post this data on the forums to make even more people be aware of it and be able to cheat? |

the problem only were in 2 games, now we found a solution with Flo.ctrl-k don't work in a normal PBEM otherwise one player has a corrupt installaton and registry. should know everybody. |

I'll tell ya what you do, Petey boy. You lose miserably!!! Ha Ha! Remember last November when I zapped your ass so hard your mom's dog could feel it in her lunchmeat? I think you do, Pete. Or should I call you "Peter, peter, ctrl-k eater"? That would be a more fitting name, wouldn't it, loser lad? Oh boy, I can't get enough. |
