Newhon1, which was second instance of Erewhon is launched. Hendy Doom (I know you're interested) and JGMagnus, and anyone who's still looking for a 4 to 7 human faction PBME starting MY 2130, You may be wanting to wait till the first impressions from the first 8 players come out. I was considering something like the idea of "1 Lee Street" [cousin, I should have expected it from you, fellow 6-sided single Risk! player]. This scenario could be adapted to such idea too: only, the Remember, the fixed planetolgy is: Large & Dense, the rest can still be edited in the scenario. MariOne |

Just posting to let you know I'm still in. I think I gave you my preferences |

MoSe, you cousLee and I can get together and have three independent 6 sided Risk games going, and then intertwine the multiple worlds through gateway countries where we are trying to take over each others boards while still fighting internally on our own boards. That would be crazy. Goob |

Yeah like MoM's planes and towers! Don't you scare newcomers like that, my one and only Goob... |

I assume the Risk scenario was the scary part, or maybe just my posting here , but that Risk game sounds kinda cool, someday I will have to convince some of my local crazies to try that with me. Or maybe when my kids grow up, yeah that's it. Goob |

Ok, we have 4. jgmagnus, Hendy Doom, Bingmann, Druid. - my scenario is open to up to 7 factions. I'll start this with four, but if you prefer and ask we could wait for someone else (only if you ask; I'll proceed anyway). - you can vote for your preferred difficulty level (I default this to thinker). - actually also cloud cover can be changed w/out throwing the map up, so apart from size & ocean, you may still ask to change the settings. Remember again, I only slightly edited the random map and biased the development, this looks like a Large Planet no-contact-yet 2130 normal game, some players found the first turns a bit boring anyway. I'll post again with more details Newhon2 |

1. DRUID, Gaia, [email protected], Dallas, TX (CST) 2. HENDY DOOM, (UoP/Morgan/Sparta), [email protected], Tbingen, D (CET) 3. BINGMANN, TLB (Hive?pick!), [email protected], Shrewsbury, MA (EST) 4. JGMAGNUS, pk, [email protected], Boston, MA (EST) Only Bingmann specified his PBEM time window. With 3 timezones equal or near, I guess the playing sequence will not really matter, if you reply in time you could also take 1 turn per day. You also have to choose which communication frame you want to play in: the first is more realistic, the second requires less attention and control. I'll start it tomorrow, so the american-based can eventually post during my night. CMN Ace |

I really dont care about contact restrictions.. either SP or Anytime is ok w/ me. I can chk mail several times a day.. and MAY be able to do more than 1 turn/day.. but not every day.. *s* WOrk DOES intrude sometimes.. |

I have no special desires for the game settings. Small preference for no comm until game contact or commlink bought. I'll play the Believers unless playing another faction would make the player ordering better. "Believers, Hive, anybody" was a preference ordering, but without much conviction - I like them all OK. Also, is there going to be a "turns" forum thread somewhere and is there a forum thread I should look up for any ground rules/special instructions? My 1300GMT, 2300GMT PBEM profile means that if there is a turn waiting in my mailbox at either of those times, I guarantee I can immediately play a turn at that time. |

I've done a lot of PBM/PBEM Diplomacy games, and there's almost always a way to "publish" press releases. Not direct negotiation, but just general propaganda from your faction. We could do it, of course, privately via email, but might be more fun if it's a thread here ... |

Of course there will be a turns thread and a Narrative thread, like the other CMNd challenges around here. I'll originate them as soon as the game is started, in the Apolyton Forum, since this is the current trend (that forum is actually more reliable...). I'm not an hell of a writer, so it will be up to you to post your stories in the thread. I would agree to have restrained SP like communications. For that purpose, just to help you avoiding any doubts in the game, I suggest you to edit your alpha.txt and set to 0 the flag near the bottom of the #RULES section: 1, ; If non-zero, humans can always contact each other in hotseat/email games Mind tho, it doesn't get stored in the .SAV, the game reads it everytime you start it. This way, the commlink list will reflect the SP rules. I'll e-mail you a Word'97 RULES.DOC when I send you starting infos, along with suggestions about actions to take at the end of your turns and about filenaming. Hendy mailed me he will post later, anyway short of his preference I would assign him tomorrow morning a faction randomly chosen in the 3 proposed above. Hasta maana |

Well, thats all OK to me. Any of the 3 Factions are OK too, dont have a preference there. I think no negotiation (officialy in the game) should be allowed before contact (no treaties, tech-exchange etc.). Early E-mails in the forum such like "oh, 1 million mindworms attacking...." should be OK. Level: Thinker is better, dont make it too easy. I can check and play up to 4 times during the day ( at least until my wife checks the telephone-bill ) Bye H. |

MoSe, I know that this game is full. Please consider me for any other's that you launch. I am in Erewhon, but it seems that game is dead. You can count on me for one turn per day. Available 5-10pm EST. Also, I try to check in early AM if turn fails to come within my window. If you have an opening, just pencil me in. No additional contact needed. I can play any faction and am open to various options. I just need a game! I can handle up to three daily with no problem. Good luck with Newhon2. |

Lord Zod, I still hope to find out why Erewhon is stuck. Darkstar posted in Apolyton that he's still waiting your turn, so I'll mail the other players to check wether they recieived. Of course I could enlist you only if I'm sure that's one's dead, and with the same faction, seen that in 3 turns you couldn't discover anything of advantage if you replay it. Unless I find time in the weekend to produce another PBEM start scenario. Any way, some PBEMs remain stuck for a while, and then start again. In Aredhran's Challenge, I played 3 regular turns (sadly we had Don's defection there): Apr 21, 27, May 7. And I hope to see next one monday. So, ViVicdi (Ared'sCh fellow) is the first subscriber to Newhon3. Waiting for others. MariOne |
