Topic: Loading multiplayer games?

This may be a troubleshooting question, but since it's so specific for multiplayer games, I chose to post it here instead. During a game we were playing with simultaneous moves, one of the players was kicked out, and she couldn't return to the game, so we all quit, and then tried to recover the game from the autosave. No such luck. I (who hosted) could play on, but no other player could join it. Any explanation to this? Any ideas how to do? I'd be really grateful for any help...

im not sure this is the problem, but if ur attempting to use the load button from the main menu, u would get the result u describe. perhaps i read ur problem wrong, but are u loading it from the multiplayer setup screen? u hafta go into setup with everyone there, and then change the game type to load game, then launch again |

I never tried from an auto-save, just from a manual one but...how did you reload it? you have to use Multiplayer, just like starting a new game then in Type of Game(on the main MP screen), choose 'load game'.Hope that that helps |

When we first started the game, we played over tcp/ip. Main menu-TCP/IP-Launch game. Am I supposed to choose Hotseat/E-mail game if I want to pick it up again? My other players can't join up, it seems. Even if it's solvable or not, thanks for the help. Maybe we just screwed up with this one... |

This has worked for me numerous times, with both explicit and implicit (autosave) .SAV files.I am just reiterating what Biggun and Rasputine have said, but the way to do it is: 1) Proceed just as if you were going to start a brand new TCP/IP game. 2) Once you have arrived at the host screen, click on Type of Game (the 4th option down on the left) 3) Choose Load Game from the drop-down menu. 4) Find your .SAV file and you are in business! 5) Your friends can join anytime during the process. |

Thanks! That sounds very much like a solution. I'll try it as soon as I can, but I'm sure that's it. |
