From the Archives of Planet, Section 2175.UoP.1:A great feast had been prepared in celebration of the new University Constitution ensuring the freedom of every University citizen from arbitrary, despotic rule. Long deliberated by the members of the High Council and by the High Lord Veracitas, the constitution marked the beginnings of a new era in University policy towards its own people. The feast was marvelous, and much enjoyed by the tired and exhausted High Councilers. It was late when the delegates of the Constituent Assembly retired to their respective bed chambers. Through the night, a piercing cry could be heard throughout the High Council Residential Wing. Curious, University guards scoured the Chambre grounds in search of the inhuman sound. Fearing for the High Lord's safety, a contingent went to secure the High Lord's personal chambre. The High Lord was found at the foot of his bed shrieking and holding his head in his arms. A large boil of mindworms had surrounded him, but they were stayed by some ungodly force. They sat there in a semi-circle around his body, waiting...watching. As the guards entered the room, they turned their ravenous attention towards them. A terrible bloodbath ensued. Since the incident, the High Lord's mind has been in a state of perpetual flux. He is kept in a stasis chambre, carefully guarded by University doctors. He often gesticulates unintelligable babble, and the few recognisable words are too distorted to understand. University doctors continue to labour to revive Veracitas. The High Lord's most trusted Councilor--the enigmatic Lord Draco of Odessa--has arisen as Regent over the University. It is as of yet unclear how long he will rule and what his policies are...

I sent Hive 2176 to both Igor & HappyKabra (his replacement) Tuesday 29. I got some feedback that made me think Igor did play it. Then HappyKabra asked news about the game, and I resent 2176 to him couple of days ago. I hear now the he's going to just duplicate that turn, so please Ignore the 2176 he'll send you, Igor already played it.But I never received 2177 turn from CEO Indiana77 (nor @work, neither @home) |

OK. If 2177 does not show up in next 24 hours I will ask Veracitas to resume from UoP 2175 which was his last turn before leaving last week. |

you got my *exhaustive* mails, guys.I really FAIL to see the logic (?) in telling to resume from Univ2175, when FOR SURE 2176 is at lest in the hands of the Hive (confirmed many times at least by HappyKabra). If HK didn't send to Univ (or if Univ never received it originally from Igor), he could do it now, or re-send. If HK didn't keep his CURRENT (!) turn, I can send him 2176 for the 3rd time. Why Veracitas and CEO Indiana76 (no right to call you 77 ) don't SIMPLY state: "LAST turn I received was 217x and I played it and sent to Xxx in <date>" Is that so difficult to conceive and do????????????????????? We're just 4, what if we'd be 7..... MoSe -...I thought I wasn't that good at organizing myself.... thx guys |

This situation is getting out hand fellas. Lets stop this and get on with the game. The offcial save game is now Archives-MI-GS-2176, a start of the 2176 turn. The game is with Lord Moss.Lets get things going and in a couple of days all that drama will be behind us. C'mon, The Believers wait to be exterminated! Alex, your irresponsible CMN. BTW how do you like the website better than before? |

Great job Alex with the site.I have to correct one thing, you are already aware by mail, I post it here for the sake of precision. The official savegame is 2176 GS-HH, and it was like that since June 29, when I sent it to Igor (and to HappyKabra too, who played it as a test, that meaning he talked with Igor who gave him the password) Then HK asked what to do, and I sent him THE OFFICIAL SAVEGAME again in Monday, July 5. And he played it again, since he asked for advice about the "already played" warning. I said him to go ahead anyway and pass it. I regularly played my 2176 turn in june 29, and I don't want to replay it, when I have the savefile for Hive ready. this coz of the principle of not replyaing in not necessary. Replaying it I could get better (or worse) results, that's not fair. Unfortunately, the official savegame is stored at my office, where I played it and sent it. There it will stand till Monday morning, unless HK is able to retrieve His turn I sent him twice, or the savefile he should have produced the second time, or the attached .zip from the message I sent him. If in the meantime our young spanish friend has managed to erase 2incoming .sav on his disk, one outgoing .sav for Univ on his disk, and two mail messages with .zip attached from his mailbox, well, that's not my fault. I'm ready to help him organize this game on his PC if he wants. BTW what's has to be stopped? Apparently the other give very little infos to you, do they care for the game to go on? I just have to repeat 5 times the things as they stand, before someone seems to read, heed and understand. If that's what you want, I'll stop. I'll stop helping and I'll stop caring. I'll just go on doing what is necessary to keep this game going, as I always did. I couldn't care less for being thanked, only I don't like to get the blame for delay when it's clearly not my fault. MoSe, your help and concerns has been dully noted in your personal dossier to be used for future player evaulation . Just kidding dude. If there is anyone to blame then its me. I failed to take charge of this situation early on. I will explain why I asked you to replay 2176 for the 3rd time. It is true that I received 2176 from Igor. I did my turn and semnd it to Morgans. Then the game stalled. In the meantime Veracitas came back. I was in charge of UoP for only ONE turn and I did some changes to his SE and other things which would have sense if there were more moves played by me before Veracita's return. This did not happen. That would mean that Veracitas would receive 2177 with all the changes I made and he would wander what the hell I was doing! He might not like what I was trying to achieve and would waste a turn undoing my changes. I feel that this would be unfair on Veracitas. Since I was not sure if HK had the save game I asked you to restart it again. As you know now guys, HK has sent the 2176 game to Veracitas. We should be back on track now. Alex, your increasingly serious CMN. |

Here, my fellow Archivists, is my attempt to become more personal in the flavour of writing the Archives.Well, here it goes...note there is no Archive reference (as if anyone but myself actually USED them anyway...). ********************************************* The smell of twisted and smoking machinery was almost unbearable. The sun had hidden in shame and grey clouds had rolled over the horizon. Blood was in the air and parts of bodies were scattered all around the vast battle plain of Maredo. As Lord Draco stepped out into the open air from the parked rover that served as his temporary headquarters, he surveyed the morbid scene around him. Medical crews were scurrying about the field, marking the dead and tending to the wounded. The storm was rolling in from the north, as if these "Believer's" God was descending from high heaven upon the remaining University forces. But it would be to no avail, Draco knew. Even while the University legions were reeling from the hard victory that they had just attained, they were preparing their troops to march on the now virtually undefended city of New Jerusalem. The dark figure of the monothilic Cathedrals of the city loomed towards the heavens in the north. "Quite a beauty, isn't she?" a voice asked from behind, startling Draco's thoughts. He turned around to see an old man in a simple, grey uniform. He was of average stature and a little overweight, but he carried himself with a certain overbearing. He was, however, of a certain jovial nature that seemed to resonate throughout his being. He had brown hair and eyes and was of Mediterranean background. "Beautiful in that it is a challenge, General Roland. What we want--but do not have--is always more beautiful than when we have it. Will you enjoy baby-sitting the citizens of New Jerusalem once we enter the city?" Draco stared deep into the General's eyes with his dark and piercing gaze. General Roland shuffled his feet and looked away nervously. >>This General is weak<< thought Draco, >>but he pleases our citizenry, and this seems to be all that matters ever since we wrote that damnable Constitution and established this infernal system the paysans call "Democracy"<<. "They will be a great new addition to our glorious empire," marked the General. >>Hah! He speaks of Empires!<< Draco thought. "These mindless worms must first learn to abandon their ever-so-sacred doctrine and learn the glories that may be showered upon them if they had the courage to break away from the past and drive themselves forth to a fruitful future." >>How could Veracitas appoint this inexperienced civilian militia commander as General of our Second Legion? What folly!Well, he has always had plans of his own. Perhaps one day, these fellows will slink away to make way for the better and stronger...<< "And they will." said the General. "We shall see..." responded Draco. The storm was coming. The Great Cathedrals loomed ominously in the north. |

There are rumours of a power struggle within the Hive government. At this stage it is impossible to judge their validity. It has been reported that the Second Member HappyKabra has turned the post of Chairman over to the First Secretary of The Hive Advisory Chamber, Alex. HappyKabra has explained that this appointment is short term and will last only during his visit to the Spartan Federation where high level talks will take place with the leaders of the Spartan War Office. At this stage no meeting with Colonel Santiago has been scheduled. Alex has pledged his loyalty to the Chairman Igor and Second Member HappyKabra and vowed to continue on with the current policies of the government. This declaration has somewhat reasured the Hive citizens of a stable government but only few hours later a memo addressed to the Hive Domestic Executive, outlining major socio-econimic reforms, have been made available to the mass media. Speculations of frictions between political factions have flared up again. ---------------------------------- Please visit the web site for some info on rules by which I will play Hive for the next few days. ------------------------------------- Alex.
