The player of the Hive in the Newbie challenge has seemingly disappeared, and we need a replacement for him. The game has just started, so not much progress has been made in the game, thus plenty of opportunity to affect your faction's situation. Let me know if you're interested to take over... |

Shhhh, you're gonna ruin his plan, he just wants to kick their arses (probably to compensate for the spanking he's getting from cousLee in WeizenXXXX) Aredhran |

Aredhran, I offered my fleshy cheeks for the cous to spank because now I can say with a clear conscience that he was the aggressor. Remember Pearl Harbor? Remember the Maine? Remember the Alamo, cousLee? JAMiAM |

Newbie_Still_Am, L=laugh O=out L=loud Better be carefull who you try to spank. You might get to tour our fine rehab facilities. Besides, you shot first. Compares more to the Six Day war, than Pearl Harbor. And it is not off topic, a replacement was found, so this is a free thread. :p |

cousLee, I SHOT first? No, no, no, no, no. I declared vendetta, agreed. But, I did not SHOOT first. And since when have I been overly concerned with keeping threads on topic?

So, JAM, it's like WW2 ? You're the allies and cous is the Axis... You declare war in 1939 because Axis strikes at Poland (UoP), then do nothing for a year until the General's panzer's are rolling through your territory ? Funny. |

I quote: "Well, the cat's out of the bag now" That comment of yours, was right after you attacked my base near the BC. Shame you lost your unit against my ECM plasma garrison. On the next turn, you lost your unity rover. You attacked first, I will be attacking last. And yes, YOU declared vendetta. I think the word you are looking for is "OOPS". |

---reality interlude--- cousLee, I did NOT attack that base, I moved adjacent to it. I was previously damaged by mindworms that I stirred up when I landed on the western shores of that island. If you lost any units, or were attacked that turn, it was not by me, but possibly by indigenous lifeforms. This is a prime example of misinformation being posted by the CMN causing havoc within the game. Mind you, I'm not complaining or setting up excuses about the predicament we're all in right now. Odds are, given our specific game situation, I would have turned on you eventually anyway (or vice-versa) since you are the most powerful player in this game. I just thought you might want to know what REALLY happened. JAMiAM We now return you to your regularly scheduled propaganda broadcasts. |

Aredhran, Yeh, basically that's about it. Now, since I've got "history" on my side as well as God, cousLee should just hang it up and surrender now, right? Didn't work with Hitler, either. Did it? So, following this analogy then, Goob is the UK, I'm the USoA, Morgan is Italy, Spartans are Japan and you are the USSR. It seems pretty appropriate given our game situation, geographically and politically. JAMiAM |

well, either way. like you said. a conflict was inevitable anyway. I had based my stance on info in the game, and not by anything the cmn said. I though the game said "your unit survived an attack by PK troop...", but I may be mistaken. Not that its any bug deal, I mean big deal. I do want to say, it is much more enjoyable than pouding the daft AI. PBEM is the way to go. Everyone is give this game a good run. I may be wrong, but the axis rolled west, not east. wouldn't it be more like the Roman conquest? rolling east, then north? I am not a history major or anything, but it would be interesting to know which, if any, historical conquests are actually mirrored in weizen. Great game guys. (Perhaps next time, you might do a little better. mwahahaha) |

cousLee, "Perhaps next time..."??? LOL! It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings, cous! BTW, how does your sister sound in a concert hall? JAMiAM |

Do'H. Roman conquest. I should not try to think when I have had no coffee. I was thinking of the Biblical telling of the Egyptians. with Ethiopia as a west ally, they conquered east then north. NOT the romans. anyway. Yea, Jam, better luck next time. (The sister crack was stupid). Try strategy, it helps. Besides, my sister is becomming quite good at the game. Perhaps you two will "meet" in the next PBEM game. |

cousLee, You got your sister involved in SMAC, too? So did I. It's her first strategy game, so she's still a little wet behind the ears. Sorry about the crack about yours. Didn't know you actually had one and I was feeling in a bit of a sarcastic mood. My point, though, is that without the credit screen you haven't won. So don't get too confident my friend. In SP it is easy enough to keep the AI factions subdued, bought off and pacified long enough to be able to fight them all off simultaneously. With 3 other very competitive humans to worry about (and your bar on the power chart sticking up like a sore thumb) do you think we're going to let you get away with it so easily? Hah! See you on Chiron! JAMiAM |

My sis is not so wet behind the ears. She has civ and civ2 under her belt, along with Deadlock, and a few others. One of the games we use to compete against each other was Moonbase (horrible game). we tried many times to see who could get the elusive self-sufficent base first. my nephew also plays SMAC. we usually have a hotseat game going. you are right, the credits have not rolled by yet. Makes you comment "cousLee should just give-up and surrender" quite humorous. My only question, is who to squash next. That bar graph?, it's that way for a reason. mwahahaha. Of course, I will accept your unconditional surrender, maybe. |

cousLee, You'll have my unconditional surrender when you pry my cold dead fingers off of my shredder pistol. I think in MP games there should be an option to have the power graph/chart disabled. It has the potential to lend itself to abuse. For example, some bible thumping fanatic gets ahead of the other humans, who in recognizing a common enemy would be more willing (and competent) to put aside their differences and knock the leader down a few notches. This may lead to games that don't ever get resolved due to time limits, because of the evershifting political climate. Of course, this could be the kind of game we all want to play, after all. Hmmmn, something to think about. How have your hotseat games come to conclusion? IIRC, somewhere you mentioned completing three of them. Can you give all of us inquiring minds some specifics; map sizes, winning factions, victory types, years completed, etc.? Finally, my apologies to your your sister if she felt any offense and to you, if you did. We should all be so lucky to have family members who are local and as gaming opponents, both willing and competent. JAMiAM |

first, i can't believe this thread keeps passing Weizen tales in #of posts. lol no offence was taken. She laughed about it when I told her. Sha hasn't registered yet with the forums, she said maybe she should pick the nick PhatLady. lol. I feel the graph is good to have. if a faction is very strong, one stratagey is to gang up on the big guy. Of course, that usually results in one or more of the PUNY factions being eradicated. The details of the hot seat games have long since been clouded. Sis won't play anymore hotseat right now, as she is developing her UoP stratagey. my nephew, likewise is just getting the hang of TBS games. Right now, we don't have a HS going on. We did have one on hold, but I don't think we are going to go back to it. the boy doesn't want to finish it. He got a crud start, right next to an ever expanding Hive. The Hive has him pretty well pinned against the sea, and kept taking the Morgan bases he was jockying to capture, before he could get the assult underway. he won't attack the hive, cause he know's he would not last long taking on the big boy. I don't blame him, i would rather start a new one myself if i was in his shoes. (of course, i don't restart games). I hope to get one started soon. but i think it will just be the two. The boy has a new sim game, and can fly pretty good. So that kind of has his attention right now. We usually play large random, all victory, librarian level. Sis loves playing on Map of Planet, I can't stand it. It is an interesting mix when we play. Our styles are quite diffrent. I usually play TB, she prefers UoP. I have been trying to convince her to play some other factions. We'll see. I think she would kick arse as Spartans, or Morgan but you never know. Well, I have rambled enough. See you on Chiron |
