I think that if you run the game as a Hot Seat or PBEM game for a turn then each player can assign passwords then. It works for me with a game that starts out Hot Seat. Not sure if it will work for other cases.SMAC n ... Ted S. |

when tha faction the 1st move saves, the password has to given. It's valid for all later moves, too. No way found till now what to do if a player later will exit without giving his password. In that case the game ends complete as you can't jump over that faction or make it to an IP faction or continue by an other player. So when starting a PBEM collect the passwords of all players somewhere.

You can set a faction's PW once, but anytime you want. i.e. if a player just presses [enter] at the beginning of his turns, he'll play w/out PW, until one day he decides he wants to set it. From then on, the PW for that player is set and not even the player himself can change it anymore. To avoid misunderstandings, in the PBEM I created, I prepare a scenario, then I play 1 turn for all players, in which I set their passwords. It works! All you have to do is to load the Multiplayer online save as an HOt Seat game...you'll be send to the 1st human faction without password and then you could set it up.Rasputine |
