I'd recommend you do so now! He's got a great start for what promises to be *THE* place to hook up for SMAC MP games.http://www.an.i-dentity.com/ac.cgi SMAC n ... Ted S.

I have some more work to do, thanks to the lists of enhancement requests (and *ahem* bugs) from tfs99 and others, but the dog promised not to ask for his sunday walk today, so I think I can do most of them for monday morning.I emailed webmaster here to ask nicely if they could put a small link to http://www.an.i-dentity.com/ac.cgi on this page, but so far, no answer. Thats ok, when its complete and being used regularly maybe they will notice... Until then, I will find some way of keeping a mention of our site up reasonably high in the multiplayer board, maybe by advertising startup of new games automatically or something...

Asian Flu, Not that the site isan't already great, but perhaps I can make a suggestion. I don't know, someone may have brought this up already. It would be nice to rate other players as far as turn reliablity is concerned. I'm in three games and two of them are moving at 1 turn per week clip. In the future, I would like to choose gamers who have a reputation of being reliable players. I am not a programmer and so have no idea if it's technically too much. Perhaps a column can be added to a player's profile where a tally of Consistent/Inconsistent or Reliable/Unreliable reports can be tabulated. I think you get the idea. Thanks for listening. Great job on the site. -david

That could be interesting, animus, but you should know all the send times of each player for each turn.Note that I'm not talking of reception time, coz this shouldn't be a blame tag to be applied to the player. If you only consider the sending time, you also can take into account all eventual problems due to mail server slowness, frequency of e-mail checking (which can be low for reasond different from players lazyness) and other factors that actually slow the response time of that player even if he can't do anything to avoid it (e.g. I'm not online in the weekends). Of course this should be purged from problems that surely happen only once (say, you take 1 week holiday once a year), and for delay due to ill timezone coupling in a particular PBEM playing sequence. It could be ok if you have a wide samples domain for your statistics. But I rarely see all player regularly and timely post "turn sent" in the dedicated threads. So, I'm afraid that this idea could abort due to lack of data. |

A post just to keep this info available and to say that Asian Flu's work on ACOL Site is outstanding. |
