The term cyborg comes from two words: CYBnetic and ORGanism. Organism refers to any lifeform. Cybernetic refers to machanical inhancements placed in an organism(usually a human). A cyborg is an organism with cybernetic enhancements. As far as I know, Aki Zeta-5(the Cyborg's leader)is NOT a cyborg. Her body was some infiltrated by a computer program. What do you think?

I would hazard a guess that she does indeed have some wetware--you can see some funny triangle thing in the middle of her forehead. Although, if Firaxis were to change the name to the CYBERNETIC Counsciousness, I would be happy with that name. |

Firaxis probably used Cyborgs as the everyday name, but they should probably make Cybernetic Consciousness as the formal name. |

Umm... I just checked the Alien Crossfire site and it IS the "Cybernetic Consciousness." Zak 54 has it right. |

Also, a faction of "cyborgs" makes the "Cyborg Factory" SP a little silly... |

Scene: University is currently at war with the Cybernetic Consciousnes, and one of Zak's cities finishes the Cyborg Factory, by his order. Zakharov: I did WHAT?! Ugh, no more whiskey for me! (See episode 3) |

I was thinking more along the lines of the crappiest game I ever bought: "Imperium Galactica". ::shudder:: You know.. man builds cyborg factory... cyborg factory builds cyborgs.. cyborgs kill man... man yells "D'oh!" |
