Ok, do they build and reserch (with a few exception) all the things the human factions do or do they only get the new stuff?

I figure that they research mostly same stuff, with a few name changes. The techs they start with sound like Applied Physics has not changed, Progenitor Psych (Social Psych) and the third one sounds like a replacement for Centauri Ecology.
