I had the idea of thinking of custom fractions that sound a bit like the original fractions, but have completely different bonuses and goals. Here's what I came up with:Enlightened Christians (... Believers) "It is knowledge that will take us closer to God. Only by acquiring it we can show Him we respect his creation." +1 Research, +1 Efficiency, -1 Morale, -1 Police Students of the Planet (... University)
"A party ? WHERE ?" -2 Research, -2 Police, +2 Growth, +2 Probe (those students _only_ cause trouble, y'know) Terraformers (... Gaians) "With a little effort, we can shape this world into a new earth." -1 Planet, +2 Industry Peacemakers (... Peacekeepers)
"You will be peaceful. OR ELSE." +1 Support, +2 Morale, -1 IND, -1 ECO Any other ideas ?

Not such a bad idea. How bout we takes these ideas and shape them into playable factions? It'd make single player just that much more interesting |

Btw, Spartan Industries is way too powerful. It's basicly Super Morgan. |

Here are some more I thought of:Spartans: (basically the same attitude as the standard spartans) -2 Police (Ever tried enforcing law on an armed mob ?) -1 Growth (too many random shootings ...) -1 Support (Weapons are expensive) +2 Morale +2 Science (ahh, all the new toys ...) +1 Economy (don't just fire guns, sell them) Morgan:
"Free market and competition are merely temporary solutions - until one corporation dominates the market." +1 Police (strict corporate security) +2 Morale (highly paid and motivated corporate army) +1 Economy -1 Support -1 Planet -1 Efficiency (lack of competition makes some departments sloppy ...) Btw, don't take this thread completely serious ... |

God of Lava Lamps - I'm not trying to make it Super Morgan. Santiago s wealth right. So Spartan Industries is wealth driven. And Morgan doesn't like Planned economics which is basically Communism, so now Morgan likes Planned. Get it ? By the way I din't mean to make my quotes sound stupid. |

Fixari/Microsoft/Sierra online conglomerate (Just added all the software companies I'm ticked off at right now together) AKA Morgan; Mark II +2 econ (Swifty fellas swell at swindling!) +2 Drones (Horrid QA department, coupled with a "Customer Dis-service line") -1 police (Police bogged down with the evil Defragmentation bug, causing system crashes every five minutes or so) +2 support (Awsome at working together to annoy the hell out of everyone by buying out the competition. AKA "Only game in town" Syndrome.) +1 probe (Only game in town for OSes.. of course they'd have backdoors for themselves to get in!) - research (More money devoted to litigation fees, less towards actually developing a product)"I'm sorry, I'll have to patch you through to technical support. Which, by the way is a Long Distance number" - Sierra Customer Disservice Line So, watcha think? I think my bloodpressure went up while I was writing this! |

addition to Rakeesh's Morgan Mk II faction-1 Efficiency: Monopolies are inherently inefficient, take a Microeconomics class to find out why. |
