I like Lal. Us humanitarians have to stick together. |

Nope...I like the University.Research means better guns (if going the conquest route), more Secret Projects and more of the Fun Stuff. Yup, I get probe-teamed to death occasionally...but once I get the Hunter-Seeker Algorithm, the probe teams go bye-bye. |

Rakeesh: ^5...Lal rocks. :-)Basil: True, the University does get a lot of research but I find that playing even on Librarian levels or higher (haven't tried transcend) I generally manage to at least keep up with him in tech. And Lal's raw population advantage means that he can churn out the resources to suppport a rather large army. University is pretty good tho I admit. I generally try to keep them as Pact Brothers cos it gets rather messy if I don't ;-) |

Speaking of peacekeepers and university, Somebody should make a hybrid type faction. That'd be interesting, although it'd make the game a little easy. |

Lal is the only stable nation. I agree all-the-way |

Minidwormh8er you suck! You can't even spell the word you fool! Lal's the best (well only if you play as him) and plus, the Hive pulls that trick even more effectively. They steal every thing you have (your cities, money, and tech) and they fight you big time. Miriam isn't as devastating, but she always places her units right in front of your cities, regardless of treaties. And if you ever ask her to leave, she attacks you! |

I like Lal as well, and have had some of my most interesting and challenging games playing him. The population and talent advantages are subtle, but can be difficult to overcome in the long game, playing either as Lal or against him. He's also the nearest thing to a "good guy" among the cast of faction leaders, which has it's appeal (some times). The university is also a lot of fun to play, and not a faction you want as an enemy. |

5th Business: I'd agree totally Lal is the only sane person among all the Faction Leaders. Plus, he's a pretty decent chap. Rather likeable (although this has NOTHING to do with his playability, I do find that playing as someone you like does give you that little bit of extra satisfaction.)mindwormh8er: If you see this, why don't you try being positive. Instead of bitching about someone you don't like why don't you go somewhere where you can make constructive comments on a faction you DO like. Walk with Lal, ol'boy. Rakeesh: Peacekeepers + University would be a bit too powerful. Lal's stability combined with Zaks research would kick the collective ass of the other factions easily. Itdoesntfit: Yup...Miriam does seem to be unable to grasp the meaning of the word 'treaty' but that isn't much of a problem. UN Shard Rovers vs Believer Laser Squads. Its kinda sad really...but...its satisfying. |

After playing several games, I realize that Gaian's are worth playing. You should try them. |

Yeah, Lal is OK. I have actually never played with him. I can say that I like him. Until he sends me a probe. Then his cooked and fried and dead oki -'Ok, Lal, live for now.'- |

Lal rules, but so do some others. University is good, as are most of the factions. The only factions with which I don't like/ aren't good are the believers, Morgan Industries and, to some extent, the Spartans. The Spartans, however, can be very successful, maybe it was just some very unlucky games.Btw, itdoesn'tfit, how long have you owned the game? |

I respect Lal, especially since he can really rain on my faction's picnic. But I really don't like him. He gets on my nerves, and it seems like he always asks for something. But he's better than, say, Believers, Spartans, or sometimes (in lower difficulty levels) the Hive. The weak always strive to get weaker. ~Magus Zeal

I'm playing a game as the Gaians right now, and the PK's are about the biggest bastards on Planet right now (except of the Morgan's of course, those polluting maniacs ), they conquered both the Believers and the University, constantly ask for tech and always getting into war with my allies the Hive. (didn't had much choice, since the Spartans and the PK's refuse to sign a treaty) |

heheh Peacekeepers are beginning to sound not too peaceful eh? But then again, we should all tremember the old saying: "He who would have peace should prepare for war."PK's rule :-) |

As I've said before, how do you think peace is kept? Force.I like the PKs as their abilities combine to create bigger bases. This means better productivity and more votes. The higher manufacturing capacity and automatic governer infiltrators gives you that edge in warfare. Matthew Greet

Yeah, I PK's my favorite faction. They're easy to play, and have a nice tech advantage early in the game (They start half way to Secrets Of The Human Brain). Plus you can get a lot of Secret Projects easily because of his ability to handly large populations. The first thing that attracted me too the PK's was Lal's bio (first faction I played). |

I really did not think that Lal was any good...until I fought someone who knew how to actually use him. Then I learnt my leason. The PKs definately have their merits (although the beloved Gaians are none the less superior) The bizare thing about Lal is that, although he is suposed to be the most trustworthy faction leader, he is always the most blood thirsty, ruthless, and treacherous. It depends on whether I am playing as him or against him. The Peacekeepers are designed for maximum growth and strong diplomacy and politics. That is exactly my style of gameplay. They are perfectly suited to me and my favourite faction to play.On the other hand, I don't like him as an opposing Leader. I have never figured out how to get along with him and we usually end up at war. It is especially frustrating how we both regard Yang as a natural enemy -- but if I am crusing Yang, Lal will stop his war with Yang and attack me! It's true: Lal believes in the peace of death. RAS |
