Only 2 people have joined so I made a new thread list.
OK, here is how things stand:

Rules:
1.No all-powerful weapons that can't be stopped.
2.There are two solar systems: Delta and Echo
3.Delta has 6 planets, Echo has 9.
4.You can have moons and rings around your planet, but combined they cannot go over 8.
5.Name your faction, planet,what system your planet is in, and how many rings and moons are around your planet.
6.You start with 2 bases.
7.Reasearch goal takes one day, projects take 2-4 days depending on the size and how many Workers are in your faction.
8.You can make projects that AREN'T in SMAC, but you have to explain what they do(eg. A project that shields 2 of your bases).
9.You factions citzens are broken into 4 groups:Air(Space) Force Pilots, Army, Scientists, and Workers.

-Planet:Aqedu(has 5 rings and 3 moons) in the Delta System
-Cities:
Capital:Aqedu Command, working on the project: the Space Elevator.
Other:New Philadelphia, working on its Space Force
-Faction Citzens:20,000 scientists, 25,000 in the Army, 25,000 in the Air Force, and 30,000 workers. Has 4 colinists to set up bases.
-Research Goal:Laser

-Faction name:Communist Federation(CF)
-Planet:Zebes(has 5 moons, 3 rings) in the Delta System
-Cities:
Capital:New Moscow, working on drafting 10,000 of its 70,000 citzens into the Air Force and a Punisment Sphere
Other:Commy Lookout(30,000 citzens), working on the project The Self Aware Colony
-Faction Citzens:25,000 Scientists, 30,000 in the Army, 15,000 in the Air Force, and 30,000 Workers. Has 3 colonists to set up bases.
-Research Goal:Orbital Space Flight

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't "Echo" the military designation? Shouldn't it be "Epsilon Centauri"?

"The Planetary Shield" is, I suppose, a secret project (not any more ). It is a shield that protects Silvernia from interplanetary, interstellar attacks.

The sequence follows the Greek Alphabet -- Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta ... there's 18 more, but you can check any dictionary or encylcopedia for the Greek Alphabet.
Ah, hell, might as well finish it here.
Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, Zeta, Eta, Theta, Iota, Kappa, Lambda, Mu, Nu, Xi, Omicron, Pi, Rho, Sigma, Tau, Upsilon, Phi, Chi, Psi, Omega.
This naming convention alone allows for 2,112 stars (88 constellations w/ 24 letters of the alphabet). I'm not an astronomer, so I don't know how the rest of the visible stars are named. This includes stars with "real" names like Sirius (Alpha Lyrae) and, of course, Rigel Kentaurius, or as we know it, Alpha Centauri.

Yes, I was until the Collapse ... and I take it you were known as Holio (or AoYoS, always thought the two were the same for some reason).
As to joining - I got Alpha Centauri three (3) days ago, can't beat the game on Talent level against the AI as the UoP, and have *no* idea what this thread and most of the other threads are about except perhaps in the context of online AC leagues.
So... I think I'll be in the background for a while until I'm pretty sure I won't embarrass myself (too late?).
Or I can just embrace the term Newbie and throw myself on y'all's mercy. Yes, I think I'll do that instead. OK, I'm in. Now what?

Pinko, I just realized something. I'm supposed to have 30,000 scientists and 20,000 workers. Your post switches that.
IC: We have set up our four bases, New Berlin, New Paris, New London, and New Tokyo(can you see a pattern? ). N London is constructing Recycling Tanks, N Berlin is constructing a Space Carrier, N Paris is constructing Space Fighters, and N Tokyo is constructing Space Marines. N Philadelphia has finished its Space Marines and is now working on a Human Genome Project. Aqedu Command has finished the Space Elevator and is now working on a Recreation Commons.

IC:Our three bases have been set up they are: Commy Hights, Stalian, and Pinko Centrol(?).
C.H. is working on the planetary Transit System. Stalian is constructing a Global Radar System which mototers the whole planets's surface. P.C is constructing a planetary defense system that can attack any U.F.O.'s entering or leaving the planet. N.M. is finished with its project and is now working on designing war-ships.
OOC:another rule i thought of: You have to explain your ships.
IC: C.L. had problems and is still working on its project.
Our research goal is now:Advanced Space-Ships
My citzens:35,000 scientists, 30,000 in the Air Force, 30,000 workers, and 35,000 army.

Capital: Negev, working on the Faith Condenser (Allows the psychic energies of the faithful at home, to aid the soldiers in combat).

Okay, I think the Planetary Defense systems are a little out of hand. Go play SMAC. Buils a base late in the game, and then immediatly set it to, say, Tachyon Field. The nubmer of turns should prove my point. Not to mention that field is just for one city.
Tone it down a little bit.
