I'd absolutely love to do some roleplaying, but I am VERY new to these forums and to SMAC in general. What's the procedure? Where do we play? Is this all networked games or is there a chat room somewhere? (Yes, I know I prolly sound like the wet-eared newbie I am...)

Greetings! Basic procedure is you find a thread that you like, make a post introducing your faction (since the existing RP threads are faction-based), and wait for replies. Alternately, you ccan start a new thread by going to "Post new topic", but don't forget to put "RP" in the subject here in the Factions forum. It's not real-time, you post your RP character or faction's actions and wait for people to reply. That's pretty much everything...oh yeah, everything has to be believable for the time period it's set in.

and when u post give us your S.E choices like democracy/green/knowledge/cybernetic and what faction u most resemble.

My advice is to read the "Guardian of Future" thread and see if you want that position. If you do, post there and say so; also, ask Ronin to tell you the basics of being a Guardian.
