Greetings. We have been away for a long time. We never planned to return, but we have no choice. Just after we left our bases, we were attacked by a large force. We lost many ships, only WhiteStar and one of its escorts survived. The Guardian of Life has been captured. We do not know who did this, but we have some idees. One of our missing ships is the escort Dreadnought. We found out that the Chancellor is flying that ship. Could you explain this, chancellor? Also, we've seen that you are still at war with the shadows. Pity. I'm afraid we cannot assist you right now, because of several problems. One of them is Korian. We have no clue who we can thrust right know. So it like to call on the help of my former friends Dehlan and JT. Please respond. So speaks the Counsel. Ronin out. OOC: I am now JT3, due to Forum database problems.IC Dehlan is gone. Killed by the Shadows. AoYoS built a ship he named the Dreadnought. It was not yours, as I saw it being built myself. We are now the United Planets of Knowledge. I am President. The UPK has signed a treaty with the Shadows. Although I was a bit upset by the Council disbansion(is that a word?), I will offer a Pact. Also, I invite you to join the AOP. |

To clear things up a bit chancellor: we are NOT a different race! We represent many races. Some of us are Shadows (including my second in command and me), some of us are human (our comm officer), and some of us are from one of the Ancient races (please don't ask questions about them).I will respect the Marshals territory, and will not enter his space, or approach it. Chancellor, Dreadnought was a single ship, not a ships class! It was one of WhiteStar's escorts. Since you are the one who attacked us, we have no other choiche then to declare you as one of our enemys. I am not happy about the fact, since you are an member of the AOP, and I hoped to remain in peace with them. But you leave me no choice. Ronin out. High Commander Ronin Guardians of Destiny |

Well, as I just read on another thread, any Faction who is eligible for Guardianship must post their policies and SE Choices. Here goes:Republicracy: This is a combonation of a Republic and Democracy. Each of our planets is basicly self-governing. But, they are still part of the UPK and they still vote. The people on a planet vote, and the majority of that planet wins. So, if a planet votes 90% for something, that planet is voting YEA. Then, all the planet votes are added up, and the majority wins. Free Market: I believe that people should be able to trade freely. There is almost total freedom in our economics. The only things not allowed to be traded are weapons and certain drugs. Knowledge: This one's pretty obvious.(Think: United Planets of KNOWLEDGE) Cybernetic: All of our computers are linked, allowing for quicker transmissions of any new knowledge. Militaristicly, I allow ships to cross my borders as soon as they power down their shields and weapons. Then, I have an armed escort follow them to wherever their destination is. |

As I remembered during the War, we attacked different races on the Outer Rim only identified as Guardians. Since we claimed no prisoners we did not know your physical makeup. Forgive us for this error. The Dreadnought was built by my race. It is completely different than your ships. I will grant you passage into our territory to see it if you like.Chancellor AoYoS |

Very well. Also, JT, if you want to join the Guardians again, I would be very pleased. There is only one major problem: you are not allowed to trade any tech you find in our Guardian Databases. We posses technique far beyond the tech founs in this area. Not that we are stronger (I'm sometimes amazed by some of your sicoveries), but it can become very dangerous if it falls in the wrong hands. If you discover a new tech yourself, you will be allowed to trade it, but only if it is not a threat to our goals. |

Our goals are very simple:1)To destroy the Evil that threatens the existance of every single specie. 2)To create a better enviroment for our people, to let every specie here to live apart from the High Plane, who have surpressed us for to long now. We do not worship any gods, altough we have a protector: the Goddess Ammu. But she lives with us on the same level. We do not have to obey her. She is just one of our friends. Since the Guardians are being reformed, our faction would be more than interested in joining again. Here are our SCs:Democracy: Every registered citizen of the FSD has a node outlet operational at all times. During elections for Planetary Governor, Senator, and Lord, every citizen is required to vote from their outlet. If a bill has been passed by all 3 Houses, and I have signed, it then requires at least 45% of the population to vote YEA on the bill. Green: In the past, there have been many economical disasters in the FSD, and our present economy reflects our dedication to reparing that damage. This sector of our SC is constantly in fluxuation. Knowledge: A good education is everything. Eudaimonic: Every citizen must fulfill their goals and acheive their full potential to be truly happy, and this is how it is acheived. None of these are open to change at the moment. I would like to see your "stats" Ronin. |

The Guardian Counsel is returning once again... JT, Korian, you are allowed to enter the Counsel again. Be sure to read some of my history on board of the White Star. I am glad to see you again...My SE's (for so far possible since we are nor really based on SMAC) Frontier/Democratic: we are only small groups, who do not really need goverments. We all follow the ways of Ammu. We are partially Democratic, but if I decide that something is neccasary, if have the power to do so. Simple/Green: same story. We do not really use economy because we are not used to trade, or develop idustries. But in the rare cases we do so, we follow the Green economics route, in order to prevent any unneccasary damage being done. Knowledge: not really true, since we do not do much research lately, but all the others do not comply... Eudaimonic: this comes closest to what we are now... |

So there is one YEA, one NEA, and one ABSTAIN. This places me for a difficult choice...Since I am the oldest Guardian, I could still allow the Chancellor to join, but this wouldn't be fair... If I change my vote for Collins in YEA, we have two YEA's for Collins and one NEA, but we also have two YEA's for the Chancellor... This is a difficult choice: If I want the Chancellor to join, I will have to change my vote for Collins... So if the Chancellor joins, I get Collins as a present to... And I want the Chancellor to join, and Collins not... JT, could you please turn your ABSTAIN into a YEA? Altough the Chancellor is fairly new, so was I wenn I started the Guardian Counsel. But I was immediatly thrusted... A confused Ronin... |

Can I join,it would be advantagous for my foreign policy. Social Choices Despotism: Computerised Tyranny, but able people are allowed their freedom, so empirical thought is allowed. The admin structure is the same as the social structure, their is always somebody of a better class watching you, and reporting all the way back to the emperor i.e: 5 drones have a foreman, 5 foremen have a manager, 5 managers have a Leader 5 leaders have a Baron who reports to me. All decisions travel thru the ranks the right people do the appropriate thinking. Planned: Not in the socialist sense, the means of production are controled by me and administrated by the AI Entity, this means their is never a mis-match of supply and demand. The AI-Entity has no regard for Drone lives, it might be more efficent to let them starve, than be fed whilst building. The AI-Entity cannot think for itself, only calculate, so it is impossible for it to do a CTP thing. Knowledge: The Upper classes are not retrovirally engineered and so have free time to research and develop new method of oppression. Genetically Engineered Society The Emperor is superhuman, as is the ruling class, workers are cloned and lobotomised so that they are willing and able to be tyrannised. |

Still, the way it is set up is feudal, with the emperor ruling over barons that rule over aristocrats that rule over the middle class, etc. I'm not going to argue your position on feudalism about this. You have full right to think differently than me. |
