![]() ![]() ![]() I was making an image for my new faction and needed the correct resolution. I know that it's a pcx file and I tried it on photoshop which only lets go to 8 bit I believe, I then did it on Lview and I could use whatever resolution but I need to know the one from the game. |

![]() ![]() ![]() The smac palette is a 256 color palette, but u must be careful because the last 20 colors are used by the game to to trasparencies and others stuff... so the useful colors are only the first 236 ANX |

![]() ![]() ![]() As far as i know the game takes its information from hive.pcx, Gaians.pcx, ... (in the root of game installation path) The resolution is 1024x768. |

![]() ![]() ![]() I know that it gets the images from Gainas.pcx, Gaians2.pcx, and Gaians3.pcx, but I still need the palette so that I can make the images in the proper colors. |

![]() ![]() The SMAC Palette is in the palette.pcx file. As a bit of advice, Paint Shop Pro is a heck of alot better for image-editing purposes when you want to hack around with a game. The resolutions for the little pictures inside the faction.pcx file, for future referance, are: Datalink Picture: 164x198 |

![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks a lot, It's just that when photoshop saves to a pcx file it only allows to colors, is there another way to export as a pcx file? |
