What is the wierdest thing that has ever happened in the game that wasn't a bug? I was playing a game where I was exploring the surrounding territory and came upon two Unity pods. When I checked out the first, a robot had mined the area including the area under the second Unity pod. When I checked that out, lo and behold, there was a monolith there, right on top of the mine! I thought that was so strange as, to my knowledge, nothing can be built at a monolith except a road. I built a base next to it. I have the saved game if anyone wants to see it.

I have had forests grow into Boreholes a lot of times. And Monoliths on water looks suspicious too. TNSe |

I don't think the forests on boreholes actually do anything, but it looks strange.Maybe the forest can be harvested? weird is as weird does, sandworm |

Yeah - had a meteor slam into one of my cities and produced a mushroom cloud over the surrounding cities. New Garland Crater! |

I've heard those events occur randomly (and thus aren't "saved") and at such a low frequency that to see them occur from a saved game you'd have to be twice as lucky/unlucky as the first guy (actually you'd have to square the odds of the first guys chances, wouldn't you?). I have had two asteroid impacts in my games but they've never struck a city directly. Volcanic eruptions seem to happen to me more often, but again, I've never had more than a little landscaping ruined by either event.Maybe a before and after saved game would satisfy, but I suppose someone could do something dodgy with the terrain/scenario editor. |
