These are the things I think formers should be able to build:- Laser cannon (attacks enemy units in surrounding squares, or any unit you tell it to) - Perimeter defence (same thing as bunker, twice as good) - Tachyon field (same thing as bunker, six times better) - Repair base (repairs damaged land units) - Repair platform (repairs damaged sea units) - Super sensor (detects units within 4 squares on land) - Sea sensor/sea super sensor (detects units within 2/4 squares on the ocean) What tech do you need to get the mag tube option?

Thanx! I hate how the section on terraformers doesn't say what tech U need to get different former options, don't U? |

If you look in the Datalinks, and click on terraforming, you'll find out what tech you need to build the various terraforming options. But I like your ideas, they might even appear in Alien Crossfire. |

Along the lines of perimeter defence, I would like to see some sort of city walls type of option. Enemy units would have to attack and destroy the wall to get past it allowing me a turn or two to move my units in and protecting my terraforming enhancements at the edges of my cities from being easily destroyed. It should be more difficult for an atacking army to invade my home land as I have been there longer and have a better understanding of the area (also it should be harder for me to attack an enemy on his home turf). |

The most likely improvement is the sonar station. The other suggestions are unlikely because they'd unbalance the game. The laser tower is unlikely, because no such thing in a turn based game. The perimeter fence or tachyon field is unlikely. Units in the field are suppose to be more vulnerable than troops garrisoned in cities. Ditto with the super sensors. If you want more coverage, just build more towers. I put them all over the place since they easily coexist with forests. And the mobile repair base is called a colony. I usually take a few sea colony pods and just seed them in the oceans as repair depots. |

MOTU: you can get some of those effects in the existing game.Walls = bunker ring. Especially once you have Clean Fusion reactors, just pour out those cheap defenders. Place sensors everywhere in your territory, build bunkers on rocky or forested terrain whenever feasible, place AAA and ECM units among your defenders. A zone of control will then keep the armies out. Of course you'd need a continuous barrier to obstruct planes, but build airfields in or behind behind the wall and keep your fighter planes in readiness. I'd be pleasantly surprised, but i don't expect you can have a bunker and an airfield on the same square. Got to try it though. Field Repair base = (armored trance ) land or sea transport with Repair special ability. Laser cannon = (preferably sensor-protected rocky bunkered) unit on Alert.

Roads (or MagRails) work wonders if you have 20 units going to and from a battle zone. To build these roads to the front lines, I make Formers with Plasma Steel Armor. An enemy Impact Rover was stupid enough to attack one of these units. They blew up before my Former had 20% damage! If I don't have any Plasma Steel Formers yet, I use a Infantry unit with Plasma Steel Armor as an escort. |

Another thing formers should be able to build: Psi Gate (transports units to any base/square with another Psi Gate). |

- Laser cannon - Advanced Military Algorithms - Repair base - Nanometallurgy - Repair platform - Nanometallurgy - Sea sensor - None (of course, you'd need Doctrine: Flexibility to get a Sea Formers unit, but in theory Sea sensors could be built at the start of the game) - Super sensor - Superconductor - Sea super sensor - Superconductor |

Another good enhancement: Mine. Any enemy units that try to enter that square get damaged as if there were a heavy artillery unit firing on them. |

Man, all those things are pretty silly. Of course any of us would like to have them, to help us kill somme commies :P I'd like the idea to have some sort of military base in my territory. That would be nice. Of course I can build normal bases, but the problem is then that I have to deal with a huge inefficiency (I'd prefer no energy ) and those damn drones (I'd like no specialists at all). |

Yet another good enhancement: bridge (to be built by sea formers). Acts like a land bridge with a road except it goes over the ocean. I'd also like to see some kind of thing that makes sea units go faster. |
