It doesn't really matter at what city you build the merchant exchange at (well, it does A LITTLE) because it still gives +1 energy in each square, not a multiplier, not dependent on how much the square made before it.

Building it in your capital has the advantage of zero inefficiency there, though. |

You should build it in a big city that uses many squares, so that you get a higher bonus. |

I try, if at all possible, to place it in my city which is located in the uranium flats(the landmark that gives +1 energy each square), and if the pholus ridge gives you +1 energy each square, that would be another great place to put it(i just thought of that idea, and can't remember if it gives you +1 energy or +1 minerals). If you don't have either of these landmarks, I agree that you should build it in your capital because not only is their zero inefficiency there, but it's probably one of your most populated cities since it's the first one you founded lucifer give your soul to the dark side

Merchant Exchange goes great with the Collider, Theory of Everything, Backbone, and Space Evelator combo. |

Woooo asteroid alert - be careful not to load too many SPs in your capitol.Hell even just a PB could cause grief. |

I have never been hit with an asteroid, but it does worry me. I tend to pile up my SPs in a few cities. I have spread them out some in my current game. So far I have ALL OF THEM and we are up to the the X6-X7 level of the tech tree. I had a great start and got the Believers to be submissive pact brothers real early. I am getting about 180 in trade from our pact. That is really helping to hurry finish some of the SPs. I also just completed my inland sea and it looks like it will hold about 50-60 cities. A new personal record. |
