Are you kidding? It's obvious that Morgan Industries is the equivalent of Microsoft."Of course we'll bundle our Morgan-soft software with every network node. It's not that we have a monopoly. Our products are just so good no one feels the need to compete with us."
First. Morgan-soft. Can it be more obvious?
Second, the 2nd and 3rd sentence are practically a Microsoft press releases.

The Believers are not the Holy Roman Empire. As the saying goes, "in what way is the Holy Roman Empire Holy, Roman, or even an Empire?" The HRE was often fighting with the Catholic church, and more than 1 Emperor was excommunicated. The HRE also had no Roman ties. In fact it was descended from the people who fought the Romans for centuries. And it wasn't an empire, but rather a loose federation of sovereign states.
The Believers more closely approximate Israel, in my opinion. A small group of believers with strong military and a penchant for stealing secrets.

The Spartans may carry the name of the ancient Greek city, but their philosophy seems to be more like today's "militia movement" than anything else. They are survivalists, the people who build cabins out in the woods because of the Y2K scare. But unlike normal people who stock food and generators, they also stock rifles and grenades.
