posted 07-14-99 01:00 PM ET I understand that you can do this with units, but have never really seen the need. However, in my current game I am ready to ge a complete isolationist. I have my land mass (that will hold about 120 cities and my own 'inland sea' (that will hold about 22 cities). So I plan on just building, researching and transcending.
I want to set up some auto patrols around my borders. Do automated patrols automatically attack? Can someone give me that basics on automated sea, land and air patrols?

Auto Patrols are nice for mindworms in fungus. Just to keep an eye on the place. Ditto for air patrols. If you set up the air patrol right, you can have the needlejet return to base at the end of each turn, so it's a good way to keep an eye on coastal waters for incoming sea units.
