Hi, I'm currently at war with the Morganites and desire to remove one of their cities which was built too close and is encroaching on my territory. It's a size 9 city and even though I've got the city under siege and have destroyed all it's farms and mines it will not decrease in size when I kill off it's defenders. How do I get rid of this city? I hate cities so close together. I've got it virtually surrounded, tying up quite a few military units and even formers. Any helpful ideas out there?
thanks,
dan

Put some kind of ground unit (i.e. mindworm, rover, etc.) and press B. Then POOF! Instant atrocity.

a) Get rid of the parimiter defense and the city should loose 1 pop when the last defender is destroyed. NOte if they have the Citizen defense force this will not work).

b) Move 20 units 1 per square in the city radius and they can not 'work' those squares and will start starving.

c) When the city is down to 1 pop take it over and it will disappear.

However I prefer to:
1) capture the city
2) make all citizens specialists
3) build colony pods until the city is gone
4) move the population (that did not starve) to my 'core' cities

Population is also a resource.

I would agree on everything except the target of that pop -- I would suggest moving it to any cities with too much infrastructure for their current pop. level, regardless of where they are placed.

Thanks, I'll try the specialists routine and get rid of it that way
