I was a pact brother with the Gaians when Deidre asked my to help her out with the Believers. I said sure and sent a whole impact rover and missle needlejet into the fray. Note: I really didn't want to fight. Anyway, I ended up taking a believer city that was situated right between the two of them. Deidre had a massive number of troops on the way. For each of at least 5 turns, these troops would move into or near my city and Deidre would give them to me. My city wasn't big enough to support all the units so each turn they would be disbanded. Luckily, the Gaian's were moving first so those units were around to defend against the Believers. I about 5 turns Deidre's offensive bogged down due to lack of units. One of the funnier moments since I've been playing.Ron

No one would usually like watching Miriams face but in a situation like this I would make and exception :-) |

A similiar thing happened to me, and also as a pact bro with Deirdre. I was playing Morgan, and as usual by that time of game (the shard/copter tech time) number 1. Hive was 2nd, and Geians 3rd. Me and Deirdre were allied pacted against the hive. I got to being real sneaky, and (since Hive was on a big ass island-huge map of planet-) on one turn I send 3 colony needlejets accross the ocean and built them in his territory. Immediately buying some shard/silksteel defense units right off. On of the bases wasn't doing to well on minerals there, so I made all the units clean. But along comes Geia, and I swear, over the net 10 turns she gave me at least 20+ needlejets. However, because of that bases crap minerals, at the end of each turn all I got instead of a bigger army was an annoying little message that said that the units have been disbanded. Wank |

Actually, at this point in the game, I don't mind the Believers being a threat to the Gaians. If the Believers fall, two things will happen. Deidre will elect herself govenor again (I just voted myself in but it is VERY close between the 3 of us) and then she will probably turn her attention to me. That's what makes this whole situation funny. By giving me the units I can't support, she thwarts her massive war effort.Ron |
