in teh limited number of games i hav played so far i hav alwas automated my formers and it has anoyed me that thay plant so much forest and so litle of anything ells. alsothat make roads in very ilogical ways. short of micro maniging 40 od formers is ther any way to solv this problem. also wen i erad the mnual it stated that some inhansments afect your planet score and you wold get tha planet terning agenst you if you used them to much but it didnt say how much each hert .also is ther anyway to stop the govoners bulding sea transports wieth low sea coverage ther is litl use for them espesyaly wen you hav iles of deap and for some reson it wont let me declar all teh types of transports obsoleat. again wiothout micromaniging the build ques myself is ther a way to stop the production of transports. well in my opinion you should NEVER automate formers OR use the govenors ( unless Very late in the game)you should micromanage everything also please check your spelling as it took me about 10 mins to decode the text boreholes hurt the most tho. |

Don't automate, forests are good, if you want to know about them check the forest thread. |

It is possible to have some control over what the governers build - If you click on the arrows around the governer symbol it brings up a menu - could be wrong I'm just reciting from memory.I was going to put a remark about spelling here but I just realised I'm not entirely convinced that I've spelt governer correctly either. |

The "automate homebase" works a heck of a lot better, so you might think about that. I use this primarily for sea formers since there are fewer choices and less for them to do wrong. Late in the game, I may turn a few loose at recently captured bases. Early in the game terraforming is too important to leave to the AI.In one of the preference screens you can dictate what you want the auto formers to do. I always tell them no bunkers, no roads, no sensors (I place these myself), no removal of fungus (concentrate on improvements that will improve workers' productivity first, and selectively remove fungus from around bases). There is a bug with automated formers raising the sea floor (never noticed it on land, which is not to say it doesn't happen): you don't get charged energy when an automated former decides to raise the sea floor. Somewhat cheesy. |

No, you can't raise land out of the ocean using a sea former. You must go to a shoreline and raise the land. So if you want to create an island in the middle of the ocean, it won't happen unless you create a peninsula out there and then submerge part of the peninsula. |
