No they will not have your techs. But possibly if the the defender units are transferred as well. They may be able to build that type of unit. I'm not sure about that. Just like if the ai transfers a unit to you you can build that type of unit even if you don't have the tech. |

In the gifts of cities and units I've made, I've never seen the AI build similar units, though I'm way ahead in technology and my gift units were generations ahead. I don't know if this is a cost consideration, or if the AI didn't exploit this capability, but I frequently have Deirdre as a pact sister, and she needs all the help she can get, militarily.I play strictly at Transcend, not at any of the lower levels, since some of the bugs and bizarre behaviors in the game are level specific. |

One time Lal gave me a fusion PB as a gift. Later, I used it on him! No kidding! |

This makes me think of a general warning on buying or trading bases . . .Frequently, then AI will take out it's best units from a base you're trading for right as the transaction goes through. Case in point, my pact bro Lal had a base deep in my territory that I wanted him out of. My datalink infiltration revealed there were two needlejet colony pods parked in there. "So," sez I, "what an opportunity." Just to prove what a pathetic creep he was, I traded all my techs for this lousy base (the game was in hand anyway and I was just fooling until transcendence). Imagine my surprise when the plums of the trade - the pods - had ben magically whisked around the globe to U.N. Disaster Relief! So, boys and girls, beware of that skeezy AI and what you think you're getting in trade. |

Edward, please, your writing is near incomprehensible. I have noticed that certain units get withdrawn on handing over a base (land units, colony pods, formers, etc) and other stay with the base (air, naval, missiles, etc). Don't quite know why the differentiation! |
