Whenever I start communications with other factions they always get to list there demands first. Is there some option that will allow me to demand something without listening to them first....Any help would be great. Thanks in advance! Goose

Don't you feel that this is alittle annoying, and unrealistic. If I want to negotiate something I don't necessarily want to go through there little routine, because it may change the relationship between our two factions at that time. Goose |

Don't you sometimes feel that all the AI players get together and say "right, let's show those dumbass humans who's really running the planet"Pass the nerve gas please. So tempting. |

I know how goose1 feels. I've had several times where I contact a faction for one reason or another and before I can even tell them why I contacted them they make a demand that I refuse and then end of conversation. |

I agree, the perosn that opons the comlink shold be able to make the first point of convosation (be it demand, batl tactics or watever you want) also i wandt to be able to say sory im out of time cant talk any more wen the AI still wants to make demands.the people ritng the next pach shold take this as a sugestion. As am I.I also think there should be some way to force people to talk to you...maybe if you're the governor? |

They're just using the same tactic that everyone uses (don't we ) on those annoying telemarketers:rrrrrrringggg "Yeah" "Good evening Ms. Arokh. Do you have a moment?" "Oh, I'm real busy just now. Why don't you give me your number and I'll call you back". End of conversation. End of telemarketing nuisance Rynn The Truth will set you free |

All: I agree.Edward: spot on. (Btw I must be getting used to your spelling: I didn't have to study the Middle English to Modern English dictionary this time.) Natguy: there is a way to force them to listen to you without their making demands: in the comlink menu, choose the middle option, which usually goes like this: "Withdraw your troops now!". Btw, sometimes the AI respects only force. I was the UoP, very big, powerful, reasonably generous to my friends and dangerous but fair (no atrocities) to my enemies. Morgan was my neighbor and ally, but after a hundred turns he got sick of my Green economy and downgraded the Pact to a Treaty. A few turns later I wanted to appease him, so I turned Free Market (momentarily of course ), rang him up and tried to cajole him into restoring the Pact with offers of various presents if we would, but nothing worked until I said: "Be my best friend, buzzo, or else I'll get out the flyswat!". Then he welcomed the Pact, and lo and behold, he was Submissive.
