Recently, I started playing SMAC again. For some odd reason, I feel compelled to only play UoP. While playing a Talent game (yeah, i suck), the year passed 2400 and i still haven't researched all the technology, which doesn't feel right, since transcends and thinkers end at 2400. During the progress of the Talent game I played expansionist in the beginning and have militarized against the Believers and the other factions. I have about 30 cities... running a cybernetic/green/knowledge/democratic. I easily outnumber the rest of the factions, w/ my 700+ votes to their combined 200. I can't be supreme leader because the button doesn't show up (though I have mind-machine interface). Playing Huge/30-50 ocean/weak erosion/dense clouds. Still, I feel as if I haven't maxed out... what am I missing?KaiN_ZerO

Hmmm A couple of weeks of your life playing a very long SMAC game? To max your research you need energy, sounds like you are not getting enough. Either: 1.Boost your energy collection; or 2.Reduce your energy expenditure; or 3.Both. Might be too late now, but next time you could try building the Merchant Exchange/Supercolider SPs in the same (energy rich) base to speed research. Throw in a few research speeding techs and your research rate should improve a lot. |

I've also found that on my latest game there is no option to vote for Supreme Leader on the Council menu, even though I have the pre-requisite technology (although I can't remember what that is at this moment). Is this a bug or am I missing something? |

That option could have been turned off as one of the victory conditions when you started the game. |
