A poll carried on from the original thread, here you will get to decide whether the game would be tougher with "Intense rivalry" checked.
General opinion -
Intense rivalry on (warlike personality provides a faster and more messy game)
Intense rivalry off (rational personality sets up typical cold war stages/slow and dangerous orbital wars)

I thnk the game would propably be more challenging with IR on, but I play with IR off.

Miriam probably doesn't care how aggressive her opponents are, because their breaking codes of interfactional conduct gives her more frequent pretexts for conquering them, while holding her own reputation unaccustomedly high.
Morgan would find it really annoying, though, as his many, small bases would get wiped very early.
