Whatever game I play, whatever faction, whatever difficulty level, I don't seem to be able to strike up a rapport with Deirdre. Any suggestions?

I rarely have a problem with her if I'm green. I usually don't pact with her but she has never attacked me. If I'm anything other than green she hates me the whole game. |

I always play Green, so I'm usually on good terms with her. I'm Pact with her on my current game. It probably helps not being on the same continent. |

I love Deirdre. She's always good to me, but she gets a little testy when I play with free market too long. She is the one faction who is content to be second place and not attack me.I usually have a green economy, but switch to free market on occasion. Whatever faction I play, she and I are in a pact about half the games, and at least in a treaty the rest of the time. I give her useful non-military techs as gifts, give her captured enemy bases if she's weak and I don't want to be troubled with them, etc. As a rule, the more powerful you are later in the game, the more difficult the other factions are. Deirdre in particular doesn't demand I give her techs, but she does like the occasional spontaneous gift. Until late in the game, it is useful having a steady trading partner, so I try to help her grow economically, as long as it doens't cost me much - the occasional tech here or there, and those captured bases. |

When I'm Deirdre, I'm nasty ! When I'm not, she's usually very friendly. |

What I've found in my games:Early--Planned, for the growth. Midgame on, peace--FM for the money. Wartime and late--green, after I get the Planet warning. Generally, I find the tree-hugger easy to get along with. If I find her early, I kill her, but otherwise, we pretty much leave each other alone. |

I almost never have any problems with Deirdre. In my current game we are pact brother/sister. She has been giving me free military units. I didn't give her anything in return, she just handed them over. She likes my green social choice I guess. Go green and Deirdre will love you long time! |

As everyone else has said, GO GREEN. Not just for Deirdre, but to capture loads of mindworms and swarm over the cities of the other evil b*tch, Miriam. |

Thanks, I'll just have to squish her AGAIN. Yawn. Miriam's usually more nasty, but never poses the same threat. F**k it, I'm just going to planet bust the lot and be nasty in a big way. |

We must not be playing the same game. I am usually green and she is usually one of the most problem factions. My games do usually end up with her and I in 1st and 2nd for votes for govenor. Maybe that has something to do with it. |

Easy one this. Large numbers of impact rovers (early game), then missile rovers, chaos penetrators and then any thing you like because you should have beaten her by now |

I think Deidre could be satisfied by large amounts of steamy and uninhibited sex. The question is which of the other leaders do you think are capable of meeting this. |

well miran could (THIS SHOULD BE A CUT SCENE IN THE GAME) not lal as he isnt all that with morgan it could be a love\hate thing (thats why she declares war on him) if she likes pain it has to be yang as he in into "control" well that should lighten up the strand!!! |

I always suspected that there was something between Deidre and Santiago. |

I think Deidre would do best with Lal. He's going to be nice and gentle and slow, treat her like an unfolding flower, and anything more would just scare her off, anyhow. Then, when Lal is busy, she'll occasionally visit Morgan for a little jungle fever.Meanwhile, Miriam will prefer Yang, as she has a real need to be dominated and controlled by a strong man, and Yang will naturally satisfy this. But Yang will want a more vibrant partner, so will go for Deidre. And Santiago will go for Zak; they're both into the kinky stuff, and Zak's imagination will fire Corazon up. As for the boys, Morgan will prefer Deidre; Yang, Lal, and Zak will prefer Santiago (she's not inhibited like Deidre). But Morgan won't get much because none of the babes wants to be his possession. Deidre will eventually get bored with Lal and Morgan, and end up with Yang; while Miriam will settle for Lal (and he for her); Santiago will prefer Zak. So the only natural match that will click is Zak and Santiago. But Yang and Deidre will eventually hook up, as will Lal and Miriam. Morgan will be happy alone. - icosahedron Actually, I see Yang as more of a meat-and-potatoes kinda guy. For real kinky action, miss D should visit Zak. Or perhaps Santiago. Lal would be into the yogic stuff, mig

It's like a soap opera. I'll tune in tomorrow for the next installment about the everyday lives of normal faction leaders.Of topic, I know. But what soaps do you think these people will watch. Morgan would probably lap up Dallas/Dynasty Miriam - Emmerdale (when it was peaceful and had "Farm" in the title) Yang - Neighbours (out of curiosity - he can't understand why they don't throw missiles at eachother) Zak - strikes me as a Baywatch type Deidre - no soaps, just gardeners world Lal - just reads UN memo's for entertainment Santiago - one of those South American ones with "Maria" in the title |

We can't get Neighbors in the states, but that show cracked me up the first time I saw it.Deidre has to be an Animal Planet network addict Yang would be into that old 70s soap with the vampires, Miriam would be horrified Morgan - QVC home shopping Zak - the SciFi channel of course, and Nova (public/educational broadcasting, I think) |

sandworm: 70s vampires? I must have forgotten that show.Buffy would be intriguing: it's not clear how Miriam would interpret her. For that matter, I can't work out who or what Buffy is: she lets herself get hopelessly beaten up (so it seems) by some incredibly powerful fiend, then, pow! one permanently vaporised undead foe. I can only think she must be some kind of transcendent superbeing who gets kicks out of showing what she can do, but only to fatally impress the meanest guys. (Like an RPG player who knows all the cheat codes.) |

miraium's favorate holo program? songs of praise?actualy she isnt into tv she probably says it corrupts the sole or something besides i see morgan monopsising the TV studios! so only propagandor and sad soaps yang isnt a neighbours guy he probably likes the history channel cause " he who forgets the past will repete the mistakes of his fathers" also cause they are always doing stuff on the world wars ...and bringing the tapes for neighbours to planet should be considered an atrosity!!! i disagree with icosahedron about morgan not getting any cause women are ATTRACTED by money and power!!! zac would probably be a treker and probably dreams of making a defiant class ship to wipe out the other factions i woner what yang gets up to in the punishment sphere ? (is that why his faction has high growth?) i dont understand buffy either but S.M.G. is HOT!!! and thats the only reason most men watch it!! becides deirdre probably F***s mind worms! as none of the faction leaders are that lucky! well thats it for the moment!!!

Deirdre could really be a B**** if your faction is stronger than hers. Otherwise, she's OK. The nicest guy is actually the professor. I've allied with him in all of my 8 Transcend level games. That's hardly a coincidence. |

Yes, she always hates me also, most likely because I put into practice my views on the environment...I find that it's best to simply build up a strong force and destroy her. "Give no quarter when dealing with Dierdre!" Natguy, Datalinks |
