OK... the truth is, ALL the factions hate me. That includes my ally, Deirdre! She's "Quarrelsome" with me! Other that her, everyone else hates me, calling me "a filthy money-grubber" (I'm playing as a pseudo-Morgan if you didn't pick it up already), and I'm at war with the world! My damn air defense units don't do their job and defend my airspace, like I ordered them to, they just fly around in a big line! Anyone got suggestions, help, etc?

Then be agressive. Make sure ALL of them surrender or get some busters-treat.

Since you built your own faction, you probably know this, but Firaxis made a mistake confusing the 'l' and 'L' keys for air units. |

Never, ever automate your units, Grasshopper. You must be a control freak to gain transcendence. |

Except for missles. Automate a missle and it will hit one of your enemy's unit or bases. Which one it hits is random. So, build 300 missles and fire them all in one turn, no more enemies. ~Rackam |

Hmm...I'd help you, but you see, I hate you too! Sorry!...just kidding Have been a bad little boy\girl and commited atrocities? That could explain why they all hate you. I suggest the "selective suck-up" tactic. Make peace with a few by giving them whatever they want, thus lessening the wars and allowing you to concentrate on less factions. If you can do tis to all but one or two, great! Then you can really concentrate on wiping them off Planet. Wait, what's your power? If you're too powerful, they will all try to kill you. That has happened to me before, especially when you're neck and neck with the Believers but win a colossal war to destroy them, thus boosting your power way, way up. Then Dierdre, my non-submissive ally, ended it and I keep getting in wars with the Spartans. |

There are 3 reasons why they pick on you: 1) You commit atrocities 2) You have all the SP's and a lot of energy (i.e. a good builder). Especially if you picked Wealth as the SE choice to achieve this since it hurts Morale badly. 3) You become too powerful and they sense that you are too much of a threat. Since you play the Morgan I suspect that you fall into class (2). Colonel Corazon gave me a good advice on that one: "You'd better drop your Wealth choice before the other civs decide to carve you up". So, show them that you're not a filthy money-grubber by using all the energy in your reserve to buy something, especially military units. That will make your carrot smaller (since the incentive to capture your bases and lay their hands on your huge amount of energy is lessened) and your stick bigger. They won't mess around with you any more. In one game I played as he Gainnes and picked Wealth as the SE choice. The units I produced came out "Very Green" and after bumping into a monolith, they get promoted to ... "Very Green", seriously !! Everyone tried to slice me up just as the good Colonel said, including the usually-coward Morganites who declared war on my with no provocation. BTW, if you are really FM/Wealth then you might just forget about being agressive. You can either switch your SE immediately or try to stall them out until you're more ready for an agressive war. |

Thanks everyone for your responses. I tried them all to see what happened. Just to clarify some things, I've never commited and atrocity, I'm "formidible", and I only automate terraformers. I don't know if this changes anything. Zozo, I have 1 SP, cause UoP is taking them all. They are the only ones not involved in a massive war on an island in the middle of the map where all sides seem to converge on eachother. Me and Deirdre aren't allies anymore. I've also got PT's with 2 other races. As for UoP, they attack all who stand in front of them, including me... |

well, maybe some of the factions are allied together and if you "insult" one of them, they all decide to attack you? |

I have this at the moment on a game on Thinker. And all other factions hate my guts. But they're just jealous. 6 on 1, yeah, I'll use wealth if I want, use my defensive/offensive air deployments, keep turfing out research and industry. If they all gang up on me at once, f**k them. I'll drive them to surrender or planet bust their collective posteriors! I'm Morgan, I'm big. And they'll all DIE!!!!! PKs are being especially annoying. But providing my defensive Tachyon Bolt armed helicopters continue intercepting their bombers that breathe near my coast, I'll continue to lead them. And I have all the SP's (except PDs, where Lal cheated (just built it all of a sudden, hadn't even started building it(?)) It smells of rotten bums anyway). And, doubtlessly, I'll transcend first. But I intent to cause some serious atrocities if no-one will buy my fine goods anyway...at a price of course. |
