For air attacks, AAA units and aerospace complexes. For planetbusters, build Orbital Defense Poad, but beware, solar flares will knock them out! |

Interceptors help if the copters attack units outside of your base but within the production radius (or was that within two squares of the base). Copter can be SAM, too, but I think it'll defend only once per turn. If you need to protect stationary units farther away from the base, then airbase plus interceptor would help (I guess, I haven't used airbases). Formers/supply crawlers could be equipped with best armor and AAA. Units moving together could have few (I'd have at least two) 1-<best>-? AAA defenders. Don't know if value 6 armor is enough against one copter (maybe with sufficient morale, I'd feel better with value 8 armor).I think someone mentioned there being no 50% penalty for SAM ground units when attacking ground units, so SAM rover? Does it scramble to defend? Never tried these, myself. And as usual, if the distance from the enemy base is sufficient, the copter will fly farther than it can return from, so while it's waiting there during your turn, shoot it down (and against lots of jets waiting in your area, that SAM copter is what you really want).

The best defense is to attack them first! |

"Best defense against "shard copters"?"Singularity Gravships "How does one defend against "nukes"?" Keep a watch on their bases and have a drop-probe team on standby. Then when one of them is about to build one, send in the probe team to sabotage the production. It's best to have one or two bases just building Orbital Defense satelites in a queue. Then you will always have at least 1 or 2 in orbit if they get destroyed. ~Rackam Is it bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a pla......... |
