I play at Transcend with these mods; ( I am new to strategy games with this being my first). I activate the scenario editor and remove the fog of war and the blackout. . Igive everybody about 1000 opening credits. . I use the edit base routine every time I bring up one of my bases. This brings up the tech discovered at one base, and makes it available to all bases that can handle it. Dont forget to increase base population constantly, balancing the food and minerals avail. Left alone, the governor doesnt optimize base operation; it just manages it. . I play mostly Believer and expand like rabbits with the opening xtra credits. The game is stupendously LONG and I wanna get it moving. This is my way. . The only trouble I have ever had so far at this level in the first 20-30 moves is if the Hive is next door, and Yang opening dialogue as obstinate. He is TOUGH if he pronounces vendetta at this early stage. . Rovers are my best defense early, then Dragon rovers, then Needlejets and copters, and the grav tanks are handy. With so many credits early, I get them formers out fast and about 3 or 4 per base autoimproving and building roads. You can cover a lot of ground early defensively with a rover and some road. Dont let the formers connect roads with any but pact members, and if pacts are broken I I cut at least one square of road "out of the county". . I never start a vendetta, but will attack in ernest depending on how aggressive the opponent. The Hive are relentless at transcend when in vendetta mode if you two are landlocked. It comes down to how fast the weaponry can be cranked out, and who has the edge in tech. Very stimulating. . The Gaians and the peacekeepers are wimps as aggressors for very long, and I usually sneak into their bases at nite and give them tech and credits to help them along. . At beginning go with sentinel, former, (if avail) then pod (add population in the "edit base". if down to one)Then sentinel or rover to escort the pod,then former,pod, sentinel or rover,etc. Your base will go "dry" at about the third cycle, but by then you should have 6-8 bases. . Believers dont have much trouble with drones, and have an attack bonus at the git-go. . Just how long does it take to finish agame? any one care to reply? I`m never finishing `em. I go till I achieve singularity tech and start over for fear of losing interest I f I finally win. 38 hours for me is the longest scenario played.
