posted 05-21-99 12:45 PM ET Ok I've been through this game one time already and i never had this problem but since i started a new game making it a bit tougher i guess i need some help now. I cannot, for the life of me, find the command to declare vendetta on another faction. I spent an hour last night looking over every interface and reading the manual and datalinks from one end to the other. The first game i played i never needed it because the computer seemed hell-bent on destroying me....a perfect example of how foolish the AI was. Thanks for your help!

Try right clicking on the faction name in the pop up menu for the communications screen? I think it gives you the option to declare vendetta there as well as expel foreign units from your territory, even during sunspot activity.

You do not have the option to declare vendetta if you are in TREATY or PACT status with another faction, as they are supposed to be your friends. I've found that the easiest way to get a "friendly" faction to vendetta with you is to demand stuff from them until they start ignoring you, then using the Demand Withdrawl option that appears when you right-click on a faction.
Sometimes it just doesn't work though, and then I just attack them out of frustration. Your reputation does take a hit when this happens though.

No problem. Nothing like a probe team operation to get the enemy to declare vendetta on you.

Just demand that they withdraw their troops, especially when they don't have any in your territory. They'll usually declare Vendetta and your reputation doesn't suffer! (I think...)

I got Morgan to declare vendetta on me by building a base in his territory. It didn't damage my reputation when I checked it the next turn... Not sure though
