Playing UOP, I've got everybody to surrender to me (except the hive which have been eliminated) but I still cant win by Conquest. Read the manual and it said that surrendered factions count towards the conquest objective.....hmmmmn wats the prooblem?

it also says that a cetain amount of surrendered factions can be allowed so try killing a few of the weaker factions cause i think only 2 or 3 factions r allowed.

Eh,
Could the problem is that you don't have Cooperative Victory selected?

Dont think has to do with cooperative victory or wat. If the last AI player offers to surrender to me (after attacking him), I win the game. However if I threathen him into surrendering to me (before I attack him) through normal diplomacy the game doesn't end

Hmmmm...
Its amazing that you can do that(force surrender without an attack), I always have to take at least one city, even if they're submissive before I attack.
Make sure they said something like:
"I surrender mighty Provost Zakharov, if you will but have mercy on me I'll give you all my credits and techs. I shall never bother you again."
then you reply,
"Yes, but only if you swear a pact to serve me."
Only in this case does a faction count as surrendered, even if they are already submissive and pay a load of cash or techs to get you to sign a pact.
PS: what difficulty level were you on?

I was on transcend & i discover the submission part quite by accident. Wanted to propose pact & when they asked wat they would get back, i accidently clicked the 'crush like a bug' option which was just below the 'name your price' option & they surrendered.......though only PK, spartans & morgans could be thus intimidated

Sometimes, a faction surrenders to me, but my alphacentauri score does not have a surrendred
faction in it (50 points, wasn't it?). It used to, but not anymore. Playing with ver 3.0.
