How do I use the Planetary Datalinks to steal tech?I've gotten them before, but I never "automatically learn any new technology discovered by three other factions". Is this a bug, or is there a command I have to use to make it work. The manual really sucks.

You cant use it to steal, it gives you a tech if you dont have it and three other factions do - but since you should be first in tech or second at worst unless you've really messed up the game - its basically useless.Apart from the 25 pts and making sure someone else, like Miriam for example doesnt have it. |

You don't get the tech until someone acquires else acquires it. This may take a few turns until it starts to kick in. It seems that even if 4 or 5 factions have a tech at the time you get the Planetary Datalinks, than you have to wait until another one discovers it before you can acquire it. It seems like a bug to me too. Hope it makes sense. |

Crap. It should say, "automatically discover technology WHICH HAS BEEN discovered by three other factions."I thought it meant that I could steal tech from three other factions as soon as they discovered it. Thanks. |

I meant to say, I thought that I could choose any three factions, and whenever any of those three discovered anything new, I could steal it without sending in probe teams. They should be more specific in the datalinks. |

Well, that's just great!I'm playing as the Believers on Librarian, and it's down to me, Spartans, Morgan, and Uni. We're roughly equal on the graph, but they have about 5 techs I don't. So I built the Datalinks. And now I have to research them myself? > |
