I know this sounds dumb, but hey, I'm fairly a newbie. (Or bad parenting... it's NEVER the individual's fault! ) Ok, here goes: What's the differnence between your economy and your effiency. I think ineffiency has to do with loss of energy, but then what's economy? (As you can see, I never have too much money...I prefer to spend it on units facility, or paying off people so they won't attack me because I wasn't quite ready for war..then building up an army and crushing them)

Economy represents the actual, raw amount of energy (i.e. that which has not been placed in either money, research or psych) that you generate.Efficency can be compared to the Civ II term Corruption. Many factors contribute, but the basic idea is that big, huge empires will lose some of the energy they make. |

Read the manual. Or just test it on your own. In the Social Engineering screen it will show you all you ratings, and what they mean. Or, just scroll down to one of Smeagol's posts, he's listed them a few times. |

Energy in SMAC is like drawing water from a tap. Econ determines how much water comes out, and efficiency is how leaky your bucket is. The farther you are away from your main base (home), the more water you lose from your leaky bucket. That's a tip for all my rural fellows out there who play computer games on their pentiums. --Ghost |
