How does everybody place their bases in the Borehole Cluster? I've been using two bases with some overlap to share the minerals and get good mineral, good energy and adequate food in two bases.
Is it more advantageous to place one base smack in the middle to occupy to whole cluster? It would be a super mineral and energy bases but would it suffer from too little food. Plus it would be a while before the full benefits of the 6+'s could be utilized.
Any suggestions on what works better- 1 base or 2?

Well... generally, my approaches to settling the Borehole Cluster are dictated by the terrain around it. Say, if there's a river running just north of it, and there's lots of nutrients up there, I will settle in that area, though that would probably mean only having two of the boreholes in your radius. But if it's in the middle of an arid place, I'd probably send a former over there and build a condenser first. Then I could sit right in the middle. Those opportunities are rare, though.
