Dronatic Style: Custom scenerio with active worms on a huge planet, transcend level, tech stagnation, intense rivalry, blind research, no secret projects, no tech or artifacts from pods and victory only from conquest or dipomacy. This stlye of play is a bit more challenging and seems to require more thoughful play. I would like to hear from anyone who has tinkered with this. Also, why does that orange witch have missles with unlimited range. I hate her!

Look out jimmytrick, you've just opened the floodgate doors to the bitch session about the unlimited missile range bug. |

So they claim in the patch documentation. But I have to say that I still had the teleporting missle appear even on a game started after the ver 3.0 patch was installed. In addition, I've also been hit with the unlimited range PlanetBuster. |

The unlimited range bug most certainly *does* exist in patch 3.0(UK). I'm currently playing a Morganic game on a 200 x 200 map at Librarian level and the Gaians keep chucking an conventional missile at me every few turns, and they most certainly do *not* have the technology for carriers or bases within range of my cities. |

Right folks-I am using v3 patch and yes missles come from everywhere. On the other hand Morgan just submitted for no apparant reason so maybe he will lob some at Miriam for me....please has anyone out there tried the Dronatic style of play??? Am I the only one who hates "tech floods" where you get them so fast that many of them mean nothing to the gameplay? Also I despise secret projects which are just cheats and are cheesie. Is there a way to call all aircraft home with one command? I am using needlejets for interdiction but it gets tedious-could I set up some kind of alternating patrol? I have to keep a constant air screen aloft, which I can do because Lal has no airpower and is too stupid to trade for it. So much for improved AI. (actually the game is great and I don't mean to complain) |

Hmm, I play like this:(these are alpha.txt edits) Tech at 40% Normal Pop before Hab Complex: 10 Pop before Hab Dome: 20 Game Ends at 3000 MY (to compensate for slow tech.) University is now Power/Knowledge instead of Knowledge, and is willing to use force. Morgan is now Wealth/Growth instead of Wealth. I turn off Transcend and (sometimes) Economic victory and play on 128x140 maps. The University/Morgan modifications are to tweak their rather self-destructive AI. Morgan always builds around three cities and then picks a fight with someone powerful, while the UoP just gathers research but never puts it to use. So now the UoP is agressive (real agressive!) and Morgan actually builds a few more cities. I disagree on SPs, I think they're one of the most important parts of the Civ genre. They add lots of diversity, and they make very important focal points of the game in all aspects, because it takes alot to build them, can take alot to keep them and they do alot in return. |

How do you change the faction profiles (e.g. UoP to Knowledge/Power)? I browsed through the alpha.txt file, but couldn't find the appropriate entry. |

Every faction has it's own file. Look for University.txt |
