I'm playing as the spartans and the believers are relentlessly attacking with massive armies. What is a quick way to build up energy reserves to hurry the building of my own forces?

Go kick Morgans ass. There really is no quick way. Other than the scenario editor. You wouldn't sink that low, would you? Turn your lab rating to zero and scrap all buildings which are just luxeries. You can try for a more efficeint SE choice as well.
