As someone who plays the Gaians on a regular basis, I have found times when Planet can provide me with more ways of wreaking havok than anything I could build up. The ability to release organisms into the wild has made that job a lot easier too. Here are my favorites:1. Find Planets biggest polluter (usually one of the biggest factions). Plant fungal mass on borders. Watch the fun. ( for best results, time it when AC-B is about to reach perihelion )
2. Plant fungus in water 7-10 squares off your coast. Patrol area regularly with needlejets to spot slowed ships. Attack with jets or Isle of Deep.
3. Patrol fungus on enemy landmass with high-morale unit. Capture mind worms. Upgrade with monolith if possible. When you've got 3-5 release them into the wild by your enemies cities. ( no diplomatic penalties )
4. Move extra IoD's to clusters of enemy sea-bases. Release into wild. ( no diplomatic penalties; works well in conjunction with #2 )
5. Plant fungus in water on coast of enemy continents. Let it creep onto the land. Use for various evil purposes. ( works best very early, before they can take out sea formers, or very late, think sub or cloaked )
6. Plant fungus in a high traffic area ( water between several factions works best ).
Fill it with captured IoD's (which can be strategically released), a few high-moral ships, and a few probe teams on IoD's if you've got extra cash. The bottom line is nothing they own that goes in, ever comes back out.
