Relax, all. This little tete-a-tete is simply a matter of style. We intellectuals prefer to utilize the language and vocabulary properly to express ourselves and promote free flow of information in a clever and stylish manner. KoRnMAn doesn't know any big words so he uses big *letters* to be percieved as clever and stylish. Sadly, he is somewhat unsuccesful, but that is irrelevant. Again, I say relax, all. Hey, Kornman. If you are looking for cheats for SMAC, then "HTTP://COME.TO/ADDICTED" also "HTTP://WWW.GAMEARENA.NET/ADDICTED/ACMAIN.HTM" (same site) is the place for you. They have a demo-cheat, the "ordinary" cheat (the scenario thing), and a hex cheat, to avoid getting Cheat Mode recorded. |

kornman, degenerating facts are the kind that tend to change or deteriorate, not really facts then. denigrating facts are those facts that tend to be about the lesser qualities of something, they can at times, when used in the proper fashion be insulting. i had thought i had noticed a trend of annoying style concerning the appearance of your posts, yet over all containing proper spelling, grammar,if colorful, and punctuation. unfortunately as i continued to read i noticed that your flashy style lacked proper form as well as being reletively annoying. - combination fact and opinion - not really concerned with being insulting. in the end i guess this affected style may be annoying as well, but i just can't seem to find the shift keys on my keyboard. maybe there is a cheat code someplace to help me. goobmeister |

Alphagene: Was Korn "corporate rock drive" when they put out their first, self titled album and "Life is Peachy". When a rockband is trying to make them selves known its "They are just dumbass kids, they will never make it", but as soon as they gain popularity it "They sold out and gone corporate!". As for the name, they weren't trying to be "cool", but if you just insist on saying then then take a look at some other (non-coporate  ) *ahem* bands, like "5ive" and "N' Syic".I'm not tring to defend "KoRnMAn" and his dumb writing... It hurts me when people like him jump around shouting "iNCoMpEtEnT mOrONs" and "eDIOts" out of one side of their mouth while saying "KoRn rUlE!!" out the other. [Alphagene will now pretend he's an actual music critic...] Mortis: I know all bands must start out humbly and I do not equate "success" with "sold out". It's just that I think that Korn, like the vast majority of popular rock bands that have come out in the past two or three years, really isn't very original. That's why rock bands' albums are selling less, overall, than those of, say, rap and R&B artists. For example, there's the "Third Eye 20" faction of bands that sound alike (Third Eye Blind, Matchbox 20, Tonic, etc...) I think bands like Garbage, Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson for example are really doing much more interesting things with rock. Korn, like these bands, is very hard driven rock but I just feel that technically speaking it lacks anything, well, ballsy. [and now back to the non-ranting Alphagene...] Whatever, it's really just personal preference. We listen to what we like.

trippin: Actually any band can sell out, however you are right in that being paid a lot by a record company isn't necessarily selling out. Let's say an up-and-coming band meets with a record company exec: Exec: "Hey guys, your band Pig Spleen is really intense and loud and you have a small but fanatically loyal fan base. You cats are goin' places, man! I'd like sign you guys up on the Hugeco Record Label for a $300 billion dollar 7-album deal" Band: "Woohoo! Yeah!" Exec: "However, listening to your music, I'd like to suggest some ideas. Maybe change your thrash metal image into someting a little more like Hootie and the Blowfish. They're a big hit and we feel that if you play music more like them you'll sell many more albums and I can guarantee a lot of VH-1 airtime!"
And that's my off-topic contribution for the day.
