posted 03-31-99 07:07 PM ET Is there any way to turn off viewing of allied movement during a turn in SMAC? Turns are now taking up to 20 minutes to complete even with most of my units completely automated. Also, is there any way to turn off viewing my own troops and air movement - it gets rather tedious watching chopper's and planes flying about from base to base during a long game.
Thanks!

Khizr,
there are preference selections for speeding up the unit movement.
Umm - is this a strategy or tactic?

You can supposedly hold down shift during your opponent's turn to speed them up. Tip: don't automate anything but formers, and even then tell them to do auto tubes or auto sensors, or something specific. You need to have your troops on hold, or specifically guiding them.

In preferences, click on Dont Center On Units With Orders.

Thanks for all the tips. I never played Civ II so I'm not used to the interface. And yes, automating units can be a problem, esp. since the SMAC AI (v3.0) crashed three of my Needlejets!
