Personally I prefer poppy seed...or donuts.... But on topic: The reviews of the AI seem to be pretty good so far. Hopefully they will be able to keep up, so that their cities are worth conquering... |

I certainly hope the AI is much improved. i don't know why i'm posting, maybe it's some obscene need that sprouts from the addiction to these forums. |

I may not write down the AI strategies, but I can't wait to SEE how they do things. I enjoyed the AI in CivII enough to throughly hate the Spanish, Mongols, and have a healthy respect for the Indians or English if they got a good start (laugh) It was always a pleasure whoopin' up on them! They did a great job making them play to style, this new game should be more of the same. |

One thing I noticed is that the AI makes good use of nation building, working immediately to spread out, and grab hold of a territory. The Gaians keep seeming to be everywhere in all my games, while I'm stuck with 2 bases and no room to move. They will build a base to capture needed special resources, and even to be able to expel my own units (or so it seems). Whenever I'm running off to try and get some of the Monsoon Jungle for myself, another pod gets there first. Ouch. |

In one of my game the Gaian Girl gave me the comm frequency of another player for the high price of 0 energies! I thought that was dumb. |

I declared war with somebody I can't remember. Asked my friends, the Morganites to declare war on them. When they asked what am I willing to pay, I said credits, 'cos I had a few spare. Then he said that he wants 0 credits. Of course, I paid him, but that sure didn't sound right. |

I agree that the 100 turns, creates certain limitations on trying to get som kind of idea how the AI handels. Still one thing has really gotten me disopointed, since SMAC has intorduced borders, I think the opponents (computer) should be able to judge me as hostile when I place my entire army right next to the border, just waiting for him to make a mistake and my force to grow strong enough to crush his puny attempt of a civilization, so I can get a better score. BTW: Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri really ROX's and I mean it, these guys seize to amaze me! |
