Hey Firaxis dudes (and dudettes),
I found this in the code of your pages:
<meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage 3.0">
Say it ain't so Mike! FrontPage?
I know this must be a mistake unwittingly perpetrated against you. We, as your faithful horde of followers will seek out the evil doer and bring him/her to justice, Santiago-style.

How much do you think we could bribe Bill Gates for?? If he were to "disappear" what would Microsoaft do? What if his wife divorced(which she certainly will) him, would he go broke, that'd be funny! Ok, what am I talkin about? |

We'd have to double the U.S. national debt to get him to blink, let alone accept. The only way she's getting a cent is if he dies. Of course, if he's murdered there'll be a few hundred million suspects for the cops to go through! |

Would the upcoming surplus we're supposed to be getting be able to hold him off. What if Congress were to sue his ass, that would ensure USA's financial security for generations to come!

Governemnt spending about 2 trillion $/year.
That's about 5,48 billion a day.
That's 3,8 million/minute.
45 minutes: 171 million; doesn't even make one billionaire.
One billion, one minimum billionaire: lasts for 4 hours 23 minutes.
If you only take working hours, about 2000 a year, one billion would still last for an hour.
Those conservatives just can't get their calculations right! |

PS: Gates is now estimated at 58 billion $, that would be 10 1/2 days him alone. |

2 trillion? Are you talking about off-table spending too? I always thought the figure was much higher than that. Either way, all the billionares in America wouldn't go far too paying the government. Maybe I was thinking of the five trillion dollar debt... |

Is what I don't understand is what the big deal of an 80 billion tax cut out of a 1.6 trillion(the 1.6 trillion dollar figure is BC's) surplus. |

Ehm...what's "off-table" spending ?
US GDP is now about 8 trillion $; you got a tax rate of about 30 % (including payroll taxes), so that would make more than 2,5 trillion $ total spending; that's about 1,6 to 2 trillion from the federal government. I think congress has a budget website, maybe we should check it out.
The surplus is 70-80 billion; 1,6 trillion is rather the total federal spending. And I've heard of talks about a tax cut worth only 8 billions for now (sorry to hurt your feelings, but I thing i remember that correctly).
BC's = Bill Clinton's figures ?

This is from
http://www.access.gpo.gov/su_docs/budget99/guide/guide02.html#spending
"As we have said, the Federal Government will spend over $1.7 trillion in 1999...
Note: In calculating Federal spending, the Government deducts collections (revenues)
generated by the Governments business-like activities, such as fees to national parks. These collections will total an estimated $210 billion in 1999. Without them, spending would total an estimated $1.9 trillion in 1999, not $1.7 trillion."
Was the off-budget thing what you meant with "off-table" ?
Anyway, add the surplus (70 billion or so) to the spending, and we have - depending on the definition - 1,7 to 2,0 trillion federal budget. |
