Something I was musing about...
What effect do feedback forums during development have on developers? Hopefully there is the beneficial effect of giving them ideas that they otherwise may not have thought of. But does it also add any stress as they see the excitment (and impatience) building in the fans? Do they ever wonder if the game will live up the expectations that are developing for it?
And for the game itself... You have to think that the forums will delay the game as developers take time out to read the posts. Also, it takes longer for the game to be developed because of the incorporated comments.
Is the marketing plus of forums worth the stress and delay?
Comments? Opinions?

Firaxis reads these forums, and they have accepted several propsals, such as an Iron Man option.
