FIRAXIS, I would like to see a new forum for off-topic discussions so that they will not clutter up the other forums.

Valid, but killjoy. I find the off-topic stuff to be a welcome diversion from the seriousness exhibited in some topics, the warmongering hate rants of others, etc.
But, I see your point. However, my life isn't solely concerned with SMAC, so I I don't mind losing the focus now and then. ;)

Plus, FIRAXIS wouldnt make a forum just for off topic discussions, it really benifits them in no way.

Actually, it would. It would allow their staff easier access to pertinent information for their designs. They could totally ignore the Off-Topic Forum in its entirety.

There's so many off topic threads in General Comments already, that people wouldnt wanna leave them behind, so itll still kinda clutter it up, unless FIRAXIS could transfer them into the forum.

I think that GC _is_ the off-topic forum. I doubt that anyone from Firaxis ever takes the time to read any of those threads. For that matter, they probably don't have time to do more than skim the topic names of the other forums. I only read 10%-30% of the topics outside GC myself, and I'm not spending my days working for a living.

The off topic forum would descend into on topic discussions and that would be that.

If an off-topic forum were created, everybody would talk about SMAC there because SMAC would be off-topic.

Yes, but on-topic would be off-topic so the on-topic people would be yelled at the off-topic people for being off-topic.
