Mike i keep getting a server a error when i post and sometimes it double posts know whats wrong ?

I have gotten the impression that the whole thing makes my system unstable if I have the forum open on more than four windows, or if I am on the forum for more than three hours or so.
Normally I just reboot and everything is fine again. Besides, I need to pee every now and then :)

Maybe that's true. I stick to 3 windows.

Seriously, I never have more than one window open, and I'm never on for more than an hour without going elsewhere.
I think it's a problem at the source rather than at a user's computer. Maybe too many users on at once, or too many posts coming in at once?

I think the amount of traffic we're getting is bogging the server down (like Loki said). Does anyone notice problems at particular times of the day but not others?

I got that error on two out of three attempted posts last night. I would have probably cleared 30 posts if it had been working right. (I only started a week ago, so cut me some slack)
I don't think it has anything to do with number of users. As far as I could tell, there was no one else posting when I was here. I'm not sure about the time thing either, I was here less than two hours before the errors frustrated me enough that I went to bed. Oh, and I also use only one window per site. (Reloading my hotmail while posting led to a double post though)

NOTE:
Do not simply press back, and then submit reply again if you get this error. I have just discovered that I quadruple posted last night (undying shame)

No, definitely don't do that. Once you press submit, your message almost always will go through even if you see errors. The errors could be what you get when the server is busy, but the post still gets posted.

I get the error at all times of the day....
The reason I have more than one window open is because I go to other websites while I am waiting for people to post and while I am waiting for a huge page to load.
