In purusing the site today, a thought occured to me that it would be interesting to know just how everyone came to know of this site, and when they found out about it. I discovered it as a result of a web ZDNET 'Gamepower' email around the end of June. How about everyone else?

First head of the development of SMAC on the USENET: comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.strategic. That lead me to the Firaxis site where I lurked about the old board... then I moved over here when it opened... |

I found it through a link on the Guardian (a newspaper) online pages where they have the diary of the construction of a web site. The website being constructed had a link to alpha centauri in its links section. |

I read about Firaxis in one of the game mags, and decided to see if they had a website. Came over to this site when it was established...I've been a lurker on and off (taking a summer class, so not much free time). |

I read about Alpha Centauri in a mag long ago. I was interested, so I went to their web site. I read what little they had there, saw they would have an official sight up in a month or two, so I disappeared for a while checking periodically for any updates. Then this site opened. I didn't look at it much until the stories started to appear, I started coming every monday, and now that I have found the forums, several times a day. The End. :) |

Followed over from the Firaxis Site where I was a big reader of the old Alpha Forum. |

I found this after a HotBot search for Civ2 goodies in which I typed up Sid's name. It was a link on someone's post for Gettysburg.

When I first heard about SMAc, I typed in www.firaxis.com. After a while, I found this place. Have been here ever since. |

PC Gamer had an article about the three games that could be considered the sequel to CIV II. I decided to check out the site of the only one that matters as soon as I got my new computer online a couple weeks ago. |

I was searching for information about SMAC and I tipped in altavista "FIRAXIS HOMEPAGE" so I came to this site. I was never before in a forum so I clicked it to see what it is. Since yesterday I'm member of this forum and I find it great. |
