I heard that forMicrosoft Excel (was it 97? I think it was) there's a hidden secret where you can do some stuff and you go into a "quake like" first person view and if you make it all the way across you see a "hall of tortured souls" with bill gates as the devil or soemthing! I heard about this awhile ago but forgot how you are supposed to see it! So if anyone knows of this please give me the directions because I'd love to see this for myself, thanks! PS I posted this in non-smac related but that place seems completely dead and no one replied, so if anyone could help me in here I'd be infinitely grateful!

I completed the stupid hall before, but unfortunately I didn't know how to get back again - something at the tab 50 column ...Whatever is the case, I would advise you not to waste your time finding it coz you will be thoroughly disappointed - Firstly, the graphics not like Quake, but rather, pre-Doom graphics. Secondly, you don't get any devils in the end. Just some pictures of the MS working team (of course bill gates included) pasted on the wall. I remember me and my sis crying foul that time when we saw those portraits |

Thank you all very much for your help. I don't have excel 97 on this computer, but the computer I use in my grade 11 infopro class DOES have it, so I'll try it tomorrow on there, and hopefully, NOT freak out my teacher in the process =) |

I think it is Office 95 the one that does it. |

I have Excel 97. The instructions worked. It's a little bit like Descent without guns. And with difficult controls.. |

The flight simulator worked for me, but the Hall of Tortured Souls didn't.Does anyone have a quantitative measure of how many resources these easter eggs take up? I remember some people getting upset over system resourses being wasted by the Win95 clouds one, and PC Magazine checking it out and determining that it took about 30 KB of disk space and 8 bytes of memory. |

Hall of tortured souls is only in Excel 95. Kind of a drag, no? |
